That fuckin sux bigtime, is anytime a goodtime for a motor to let go
Id source another 2J and throw that in..IMHO its cost effective / car will be on the road with a day or two and you can part out the dud engine and get close to your money back as 2Js are going cheap nowadays.
Tidy mods on the car but if you wreck you'll be stuck with alot of shit and again parts are getting harder to move on ecspecially stock parts. Unless someones wants the shell it'll be scrap metal.
Id go with sourcing another 2J....
ps: what were you hoping to get for the car ? _________________

,get another 2j and swap it and get it on he road asap,
Seen them for around 1.5k - 2k mark but grab a frontcut / halfcut as theyre a fraction more but there's some coin on the cuts themselves. ie: BMC / headlights / radiator / reo bar / front bumper / auto bunky tranny / ecu / loom / washer bottle / etc, etc. _________________

that sux big time!!!!! if you do decide to part out, i call dibs on the front mount intercooler! been looking for AGES!!!. but you should buy another 2j. in saying that you could make a fair bit of cash parting it out! _________________
I don't think there is much to be made from wrecking a busted engine'd car. Fix it, its not as much as you may think.
Even if you sell the good bits you will still he stuck with a heap of worthless parts.
Agreed
Plus, its a massive pain in the ass to do.
You guys havent a clue so much dollars on there it aint funny.....
Over $1000+ in parts easily parting out. Im just thinking with Eddie not doing the work himself with the headgasket he'll be reamed hard by mechanic ie: $1000+.
Horses for courses either rebuild or another 2J, i know what id choose
Unless Eddie goes with another donk couldnt you guys local to him help him out whip out the old bunky and install the newbie only a days work if that. _________________

yeah really dont have the time/space to get a half cut and part it out, just started a new job and only have sundays off
so its a toss up between rebuild and source another motor...
anyone got any leads where i can find another motor?
Geez even with the new job and all to, bad & unfortunate timing
Not sure about 2Js in SA but over in WA i know of plenty...Theyre going a shitload cheaper these days too. Any smacked up Aristos in SA & being parted out ?
Whats the quote for the h/gasket coming to ?
Honestly in if youre in WA we'd have this knocked out no probs..... _________________
