So off it!
Took my car to a brake specialist in albury to get my disc's machined which they did for $150 so was happy with that but I had to leave it with them overnight.
When I picked it up I noticed they'd driven it 20kms and the peak boost was 9psi!!
does 20kms seem excessive to anyone else? and 9psi wtf?????
It really pisses me off when people think its ok to flog the crap out of other peoples cars.

yea 20km is over the top for a road test
I took my last aristo for a blueslip when it had stock twins an in sequential. Mode it wouldn't make boost till 6000rpm but in twinturbo mode went well I had it on a switch and turned it back to twinturbo mode when I dropped it off the mechanics told me when I picked it up that my car won't make boost till 6k I was like why where u revving it to 6..... _________________

I take it you mean 19psi, and yes unfortunatly I think this happens much more then most realise
And yes just had a similar thing with mine through a workshop working on the auto.
The car got left with the boost set to 11psi and peak boost showing 13psi
I get the car back with the HKS evc beeping and in some weird mode.
Peak boost was showing 16psi..
Now 16psi seems like nothing, but lets not forget that this EVC had just 2 weeks prior been setup on the dyno and 13psi was the peak it was hitting on the dyno and 13psi is the peak It ever hit with me driving it..
Now this was the only time i've left a car without taking note of the mileage... But I'm certain the bloke taking it for a test drive got stuck into it

lol at you guys thinking workshops wont give your car a hiding, people who work on cars for a job are generally into cars. They are going to give it a hit when they take it for a drive simply because they want to see how it goes. Id only be worried if I came back picked it up and it was running extra boost ect; because that would mean they fucked with shit they had no right or need to be playing with.^^^^like above.
In short if I droped my car off to a workshop and I found out they had given it a hit, what differance is that to the hit I would give it on the way home? Whats the point of owning a performance car if your scared to give it a hiding? Whats the differance if someone else is doing the hiding? If your setup is that knife edge or just plain shit that you have to worry that hard about it something is wrong. _________________

I know what your saying mate but jut because you are getting work done it dose not fire someone the right to flog your car I won't let anyone drive my current aristo as on 15 psi it wil violently slide sideways when it hits boost and most people dont know how to controle that I have no problem with the fact that the car was mashed to the floor but if they mash the car to the floor and lose controle and smash a gutter or another car then it's my car that gets damaged not there's _________________

My setup is stock so im not worried about that.
The point is that I did not give them permission to do that. I understand that some places (not all) are probably going to do it but it doesn't mean its right.

i have guys at work that do this sort of thing, flog customers vehicles, but mind you wont even let me drive theres because its there "pride and joy"
would piss me off if ive worked for a nice car and spent my time and money to get it proforming as i want it to, without some knob head "P" plater wanker flogging it down the back streets. _________________

my brother uses his microtech to set the rev limiter to 3k!! problem solved, wat ya gona do with 3000rpms?? NOTHING!!!
unless its a performance shop, doing performance work that requires lots of rpms/throttle they shouldnt be thrashing the car...period...no 2 ways bout it....i know when i go to get my alignment done, iam gna get my bro to take the soarer too...that way i can follow them....if they thrash it...all hell shall break loose! _________________

Just cause I give my car the beans it doesn't mean it's ok for some mechanic to do the same,
Just because I give it to the misses doesn't mean I am going to share _________________

i was a mechanic i did not flog anyones car except mine. the 9psi could have been made entering into traffic first gear not that i'm saying that they should of driven it that hard but that is bad a driving thing 20km for a brake bed in mmm sounds like someone might of taken it home some times or manger would do this if he thought there was a problem but he would always ask the customer first _________________
