ok lads, i will cut to the chase, before i take this POS of mine to the auto electrician to find out WTF is going on with this rear window reg..!!
all other 3 windows work fine, up and down ...have changed the switches to THIS window 5 times .
ALL OF THEM ...do the same thing . window down wont come up..?
have changed the motor only to the reg (thanks jamie )
i have just bought a complete set of 147 switches and changed the master (driver door) and rear one.
(SAME THING ? ) no improvement at all.?
take the switch off the PROBLEM DOOR and place it in ANY OTHER DOOR and it works fine...?? (up/down)
removed door cards to driver and rear door , looking for something wrong..? (cannot see shit wrong )
NOW....if i unplug the connector at the reg motor and use a 12 volt power unit, the window WILL GO UP AND DOWN AS NORMAL....
i HAVE noticed when you attempt to use the master unit (driver door ) the switch in question to the rear door, the light for the switch GOES OUT..?
in short , trying to use the switch to bring the passanger rear window UP will not work..!!!
bypass the switch and use a 12 volt power source (ie:: wires from the battery to the reg motor )
the reg WILL go up and down.....
ok members.....ANY IDEARS ON THIS SHIT..!!! all the best....nick
i not to clued up on the elecrical side of things........sure simpo can vouch for that could be the harness in the door nick maybe try swaping that over
do you know what you are asking here bloke....!!!!
it obviously "breaks" by connector at the window motor, but by the looks of things THATS IT..?
the "harnace" may well travel back to the front door...? if i cannot find another connector in line..
i will be WELL PISSED....if i have to do this kind of shit..!!!!

I believe this is the problem affecting most of the doors in our vehicles mate
And I do believe it is the wiring somewhere. I'm not sure how, but somewhere the connection drops voltage, like a Lot of voltage. Try and get a multimeter on the lines while you hit the switch from the drivers and then the passenger door, and find where the current is flowing. You'll probably find you're only getting a few volts at the reg when you try to go Up, not the 12V it should be getting. This is why they go slow/stop completely.
You'll need to isolate the causative wire then replace it. It will be a lot of work mate, but an auto eleccy will charge a fortune for the same service.
I would have done it by now, but none of mine are bad enough to warrant it (yet!) _________________

if the light in the switch turns off when u activate it, i'd say its a short issue somewhere, check all the wires for shorts on the chassis(of the doors, where it runs through grommets) _________________
Mine has a similar issue where the front passenger window struggles to wind up when the drivers switch is used. Down is no issue it's only up.
If you use the passenger switch then it continues to wind up find.. Haven't really looked into the issue too much as it only happens every now and again..

It wouldn't be a good solid short though... More like a slight wearing of the wire and JUST touching.. cos usually you get some 'kicks' out of the reg, but not enough to get it to move. May be very hard to locate and patch the short.. best off trying to just isolate which wire then just replacing the whole thing through the loom imo. _________________

hell harry....
so what you would need to do first rusty , is find the "power wire' from the driver master, that feeds the passanger rear door ..(yes )
i dont know if you have noticed this rusty...? BUT the main connector for the driver reg (just off the motor ) runs a red & green . IN the driver door these when plugged in run (red to red / green to green )
NOW.....look at your rear reg motor , and the connector there runs (red to green/green to red )WHY.?

theres a...............relatively easy way to find out if its a short...not going to tell u 100% if its a short, but will get u started...
if you can isolate the power wire for the motor, you can use a multimeter to check for continuity between the chassis and that wire, if there is continuity, thats means theres a short, if there isnt, unfortunately the short may not be strong enough/not touching at the time and causing no continuity...
good thing is, since its on the drivers side, the wire leading from that door to the drivers door isnt overly long..which means testing it wont be hard, nor replacing if its the culprit!
i'd say replace it anyways, there could be a break somewhere in it, but wouldnt explain the light going off! _________________
now then is it you that can help me in regard to telling me what colour are the wires for the rear switch
in the master unit in the driver door..... ( did that make sense..? )
IF...i can find this out soti , i will replace the wires completly from the master switch to the back door switch...!!! THIS..? should do the trick if its a short . and i believe it IS..!! cheers nick
Nick - Are you sure that the window is just not getting stuck in the tracks? This will put extra load on the motor which will use more current and cause the light to go dim.
I'd suggest pulling out the rubber and giving it a good clean. Also try wind the window up with it out.

cheers chappo....BUT.. been there done that...
this did enter my small brain, and as such have done as per your comments above..!!
( with the motor off the window and attempting to use the rear door switch as per normal SAME/SAME
it will wind down . not up !!

Does it do the exact same (Down, not Up) thing when using drivers switch and actual door switch?
Neither is any better at it?
And both are good at pulling door Down?
With all switches untouched:
Check you have +12V at pin 5 to the plug (should be Blue wire)
And make sure all the other pins are continuous with eachother and Ground. _________________

FAARRK ME..!!!! thanks heaps chappo.............. THAT will take some time to read bloke..!!!!!
ok RUSTY.......YES. i have placed the (new ) well complete set of untouched 147 switchs in the car mate
obviously replaceing ,the master and rear passanger and EXACTLY the same shit.....
but as said, pull the switch out of the pass/rear door , and place it in ANY other door and works fine..?
same with the master one.....down but no up at all..?
