So I had been following a TRD dash, started off cheap cheap, price slowley went up in the last two days.
All was looking good comming into the last few hours of the auction, I'm waiting to pounce with my bid at the last minute. 10 mins to go price goes up a little but still going for a good price.
I'm just about to place a bid in the last few minutes, and notice the time getting exdended by a few mins, gets down to 1 min and jumps back up to 5 mins remaining.
Next there is a bidding war and price goes up & up & up, over what I was willing to bid on.
Is this a common occurance for Jap yahoo Auctions??
So any lucky soin so from here make the winning bid??
Its called Saturday nite when all of Japan settle on jap yahoo, be prepared to have your pants pulled down many a time...Japs are like angry hornets and will bid stupid to win items !
Best way i can explain the Jap Yahoo setup is when bidding under 5mins it'll add 5mins onto the auction...This way you dont get sniped like with OZ Gaybay, gives you time to reassess your options if you want the item or not with the extra alotted time.
All the action happens in the last 10mins but i can tell you'll lose out on alot of auctions because of the japs bidding fiercely. Ive said here numerous time parts for our cars are getting harder to find and when something semi decent comes up the japs swarm like african killing bees over it.
Im used to it by now, but i try to endevour to get the best for our cars & to be honest i make fuck all from it.....
Have a link to the auction ? _________________

About the going rate for a 320 / TRD dash . Tacho is a easy fix ask James05 gut your stock dash and replace the tacho's over not hard, or im thinking the needles gets stuck which is even easier to fix.
Wow you should've kept bidding has new needles and LEDS to !

Yeah it's a MUCHH better system.
farking eGay and the sniping that goes on there is crazy. YAJ extends the auction almost indefinately when bids are placed near the end, but doesn't stop people swarming things as Jamie has said. _________________

I didn't place a bid, as I said I was waiting for the very last moment to bid, but time got extended and bidding went over what I was prepaired to pay.. There was a total of 32 bids for that gauge
However had I known the tacho was an easy fix and it had all new needles and leds, I would have brought the fugging thing
Agree Rusty pisses allover OZ ebay handsdown....I hate sniping atleast with Jap Yahoo you've an even chance....
vanquish: i browse in jap only, because i know how to navigate the whole of jap yahoo but soon as its translated im fuckin lost Anything that catches my eye i'll translate....
I definetly dont use Import Monster for my own personal reasons, many bad experiences with them.
sleeperJZS147: Look at the pic below mate they're newer style orange needles and definetly white LEDS...Id of pushed harder to win it !

Yeah kicking myself now... but not forgetting I would have bidded through import monster, so with his fair wack on top + shipping it wouldn't have come in that much cheaper then what they go for here..
I search through Yahoo jap auctions / translate but had no idea you could actually bid through it thought monster & streeter were your ownly options
One of the many reasons i wouldnt use there services the appalling costs involved for one ! What was the budget with everything said and done at the figure you wanted to bid inclusive of shipping and what not ?
You cant you need to pay a huge fee to setup and the japs wont deal with us white honkies direct & you'll need a go between for that. Plenty of options if you know where to look.....
Still id of kept bidding to win that ultra rare TRD 320.... _________________

LUKE.................... i was watching that TRD from day one..!!! (sold very cheap.!! )
if i did not have other parts on the go, i would have grabbed the thing..!!!
in the future fella , you have a Q..? about anything on jap yahoo, CALL ME FELLA..?
i live on the bloody site , jamie would not be far behind me ..!! only way to snaffle a part off the japs
is to be one jump in front of em bloke..!!! Evan then you can get "reemed hard"....
as jamie has said quite a few times and totally agree, jap yahoo, is NOT for the faint hearted....
you WILL struggle if you are a NEW member to it (sellers dont like "newbies.!" ) they prefer buyers
that have a good / big / perfect track record . so it CAN be difficult for some..!!
and when something worthy of a FIGHT comes up ,be ready to do just that..!!!
BUT....always remember the local jap lads, dont have to contend with big shipping costs WE DO..!!
depending on the size / weight of the part in question..?
and as the man has said, you deal though a third party from japan..!! BUT do your home work and
THERE are lots of options out there....NOW..!!
I agree Nick to me that went super duper cheap for a rejigged TRD 320 ! I bet you would've nick because it was well under priced what they go for normally.
Yep PM Nick he's an expert in dealing with the japs and bidding on parts in general
Definitely not for the faint of heart on jap yahoo they'll steamroll you if you mess about and Muppets quite aptly put & prepare to fight the buggers for parts ! Best option is never put your max bid in the japs will bid over you in the end and it'll over inflate the price, just play the waiting game and be patient when bidding and think it thru <<<< Best advice you'll get...
IM is more 3rd party for sure you'll be hit with fees and GST when it lands for parts if sent direct to there store via container. Id cut out the middleman and use someone else asap ! _________________

Gents, there is a little thing that has been upsetting me for a while now and even more since I have been living here in Japan.
Please try to avoid using the word 'Jap' when you can. Unfortunately, I have seen the word used in a distasteful manner quite a bit on this site recently. It is quite an offensive term to many Japanese people as it was obviously used during and after WWII and was obviously always used in a demeaning, aggressive manner. I have read quite a few posts recently with a kind of negative angle towards the people of this country. I understand that there is sometimes no intentional slander etc, but it does kinda annoy me and does not sit well with me. (I don't know, but I may even be guilty of similar language on here in the past?) I also understand that the difficulty in this particular term is that many people use it simply as a shortened version of 'Japanese' quite innocently.
Now don't get me wrong, I am an Australian through and through, (whatever that means) and I know my history, which is why we should be even more careful now days about respecting people of other nations and cultures. I don't wish to get into any racial debates and history lessons here. It is simply a matter of respect in todays world.
Please understand that using the word 'Jap' is much different from using the word 'Aussie' for example.

Japanese
As I said, i don't want to get into some racial discussion, just telling it the way it is. I am fully aware of the ways people speak as I grew up in Australia and very often was exposed to the term. I was also exposed to other words to describe other walks of life. My Dad would often use the the word as we had a few Japanese cars over the years.
I just want to make people aware that although it is an easy term to get into our daily vocab, the word 'Jap' 'is often used in a nasty way. I can think of at least half a dozen racial terms used to describe other groups which are really frowned at now. I am guessing that in this case, there are few Japanese in Australia to cause too much of an issue? Now I am here, I can clearly see how it could be offensive.
Don't forget where we are posting this Nick. This is a global world we live in now. They built your car, there is no need to say things that may offend them. You maybe didn't realize how offensive this term is, so my idea of the post was to make you all aware. I am also not targeting any one person. I have most likely used the term in my entries as well. Now that I realize, I refrain from saying it.
To much BS political correctness these days, no wonder australia is going down the gurgler quicksmart & ourselves have lost the larrikin identity we proudly used to possess.
Sorry Chris i'll refer to them as Japs and FWIW we've Jap friends and they take no offence whatsoever.....
