he asked if a 147 has an internal filter for ouput into the car..?? which if so , can be removed and cleaned.?
THIS.....after checking around , i cannot answer / hence the question for those that know more than me .

he did say on fan speed 2 (4 total ) at 18 degrees (lowest setting ) the unit is starting to ICE UP..!!
on speed 3 or 4 no problems.? thanks in advance for any advice given..........cheers nick.. Confused

No there is no internal filter for the car.

Which component is starting to ice up? The low pressure lines? Or at the evaporator? Condenser?

It would actually be at the condenser which the freezing would occur. This would be blocked by your FMIC so inadequate airflow may cause the issue.

However I would say that there has been a different refrigerant used than what is recommend for the system. Might pay to have the pressures checked and reduce the quantity of refrigerant in the system to increase the temps - This will however reduce the cooling capacity of the system but it won't be any good any way if its frozen up..

some DO have an internal filter, mine does, but the actual filter itself is missing, someone stole it...if you look under the passenger dash the big white box thingy...some have a removable cover, some dont, if u take the cover off, theres supposed to be a filter in there..

my soarer has one, but the cover doesnt fit on the risto, which is disappointing because mine is missing the cover, so most of the air goes out there instead of the air vents!

The reason why they say to only use air is that they are a carbon activated filter designed to remove particulate matter and other VOC's.

Although after 16years its probably only good for removing large particulate matter.

the one in my soarer was stupid dirty aswell...ended up taking about 30mins of just soakin in a bucket of water, refilling the bucket with clean water then soaking, over and over...

your lucky you see, you have the filter AND the cover, i have neither, so whenever i turn on the heater/AC it just bypasses the vents and comes out the great big gaping hole at the bottom of my heater unit! Maybe ill call on my local wreckers (Jamie Smile ) to see if he has a spare cover at all...
