Ok peeps. So it may be the alcohol talking but I am contemplating something rather stupid. Anyone care to talk me out of it. Anyway, I've been browsing car sales and there are a few sub $10k 160's. How hard would it be to put a GTE engine into it? Would it be a simple swap?

Organise the funds first, say $20-22k, call the guy up, meet him and work him down to a more decent price. Its a buyers market and money walks. I know you dont want to spend that sort of cash but doing the conversion will quickly tally up to that inc price of a cheap 160.
I can not stress enough how painful it is going thru a conversion, thinking you've changed everything you needed for a turbo package and you keep breaking things or run into electrical issues. Also if your not doing the work yourself, labour cost quickly start piling up too.

Dimo. Price a half cut 161 and go from there.
If you really want to get value for your money, buy an already modded half cut!!!! If you can get a full half-cut and wanna take you time....Ill help you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would first speak to Import Monster and get an idea on costs.

It will cost more than that. It always does. You think it will be under or on budget and it never is. Sort of like when you say it'll cost you 10k to go big single, it never does it never ends. Then you get there and something else goes bang you werent counting on and you're spending more. Or you get canaried. I hate cars i love my boat fuck it im gonna put the 2J into the boat.
There's a conversion being done at Wtfauto at the moment everything is pretty much straight forward.... Give em a call if you want. Don't think they are having too many problems. (0 6396 2140 _________________
