possible symptom of a faulty FCD?

So I think my FCD is knackered but not totally sure - just wondering if you guys think this would be a typical symptom.

under light throttle the car drives fine. once it gets to say 2500rpm and with more than 1/4 throttle it hesitates and the harder i push the more it hesitates. floor it at this point and the car does not accellerate at all.

it first started happening a while ago but it stopped after i removed and then reinstalled the FCD. i thought that the earth wire was just loose. it started happening again yesterday. everytime i remove and reinstall the FCD the problem goes away for a while.

ideas?

for now i'm just driving without it, seems to be ok

A good starting point would be to check the MAP voltage going in to the ECU, and compare your findings when the car is running fine to when it is playing up.

Or a wide band to check the a/f if you have access to one,

its one of the home made FCDs offered by a guy on here about a year ago.. i believe it is adjustable but i havent ever toyed with it.

thanks for the suggestions. i dont have access to a wideband unfortunately. i'll re-install it over the weekend and start testing voltages when and if it plays up again.
