okhay so first things first, yup was an idiot to do it Razz

the situation though:

lane is merging in and I see this car speeding up on the left, so dunno why the natural instinct was to speed up and not be cut off Razz then bang lights go on .. exact conversation

"not very bright are ya? , gimme your license "

" you're lucky I'm going to a stab scene, else I woulda taken your license "

" you'll receive something in the mail, stay here and don't be an idiot "

gets in car , speeds off. Had to cop it quietly ofcourse, but had no idea what I was doing and I'm not sure how he'll work it out either as he was speeding up too ...

reckon it's worth bringing up that howcome lights weren;t flashing in the first place, so I woulda moved over and not feared of being hit as the lanes were merging? or just cop it -

just didn't like the sound of ' I would've taken it ' and how that'll translate in the mail Nervous

Last freaked with by jdm101 on Mon Jan 07, 2008 12:30 pm; freaked 1 time in total

he was in the left lane, coming up to merging -> give way to your right -> he should have given way to you... Confused

who cares if he's going to a crime scene, unless his lights are on he must obey road rules

more often than not, "you'll get something in the mail" usually means you wont get anything in the mail. at least thats my experience anyway.

just spoke to the local station and they said wait to recieve whatever comes in the mail then if I wanted to , can state my understanding of the situation and go from there.

I've never had any driving related fines in my 3 years of driving (here in Aus.) so was just confused exactly what happened Embarassed

*forgot to mention he did jot down my license number quickly Sad

was going to a stab scene (hopefully the number smudges off Razz )

i love the fuzz Razz

i got done on the eastern freeway once by a cop who was tail gating me, then backing off, then tailing me, then backing off, so i booted it (up to about 150) and on come the lights.

i asked why they were following me... 'because we knew you were going to do something'. fuck me, who wouldnt want to get away from some retard screaming up your ass then backing away then coming back screaming up your ass.

how can you ever contest it but? you cant, they are 'the law'.. or they like to think the badge on their shirt makes them bigger than you and i at least anyway.

ive never gotten anything 'in the mail' after ive been told i would (drag racing, epa, burnouts, etc etc etc) and thats been a fair few times in my earlier days too Very Happy

least you got caught by a cop, not a van.

coppers may let you off, as it seems will happen with you.

note: cops must obey all road rules if lights are off. once on, then yes, they can break them, but afaik they still cannot go past 200kph...just fyi Smile

if he was by himself, just dont say anything just deny. If there are 2 its different they can both go to court. Its your word against his.
Plus he sounds like a DT.. Keep us posted i doubt there is going to be anything , they need to fill out paperwork etc.

heh, when the previous model commos came out, and the cops got them, i remember a friend of the family who was a cop say they can do 230 easy (and it's through him that i found out they were not allowed to do over 200 or something like that)

they are limited to 220 or 230 from memory. The cop insurance doesnt cover them over 200 though.
I believe the bikes are limited to 180 to due the high chances of them crashing at high speed. LOL

Cops are inherently lazy so I doubt that you'll see anything further.

Cops are also living proof that women can conceive through anal sex.

He probably just wanted to scare you a bit - I wouldn't be too worried.

If something silly does come in the mail like a dangerous driving offence, I would just contest the fine and take it to court. In my experience courts are pretty lenient if you've got a good driving record Smile

Perhaps just say you panicked when you saw someone speeding towards you way over the speed limit. You assumed it couldn't have been a cop because there were no lights flashing.

The cop may also be hesitant to give you a fine - cos it would prove that he delayed getting to the seen of a stabbing incident to give someone a speeding ticket. I don't think he would want that on record - I'm sure he'd get a good butt kicking...
