I've realised that my aircon system is leaking. It was regassed last week and was working for a few days but has now lost all gas again.

Would anybody happen to know if there are any usual suspects regarding this on the aristo? i know that some cars have common faults i.e. the mr2s all need a new expansion valve at some point.

The mechanic did put dye into the system, and i cant seem to see any leaks based on a quick superficial inspection

thanks guys Bawling

do you have an fmic?

i found that my install just touches the aircon pipe on the passenger side, which I'll need to fix before it possibly rubs through the pipe... Eeek Dance

Let it go for longer. If you can't find any external leaks, it could be the condenser / exchanger in the dash, which is possibly the worst thing it could be.

thanks for the responses

yes i do have a FMIC, but it doesnt appear to be the culprit. i am suspecting that Aristo is on the money and its leaking from inside the dash. the reason i say this is that on reflection i do recall a wierd smell in the cockpit (lol, cock ) just after getting it gassed.

I will update the thread once i find out whats goin on.

At least when your heater core splits you can see the water dripping down.
