Anyone seen a 1GZ-FE powered Aristo yet? I know they're starting to throw this into Supras, but considering it's the powerplant from a Century I'm sure someone wants to chuck it in a JZS147. For those that don't know, here's some info on the engine...
1GZ-FE (first gen GZ family of engines).
Only found in second generation Toyota Century (JDM production only), along with the 1UZ-FE.
Only came/comes with an automatic transmission, as this vehicle is placed higher than the LS400/Celsior.
V12 configuration, naturally aspirated, with a displacement of 5.0L.
Most commonly, JZA80 owners have been stepping up to this with many of them being sick with every man and his dog throwing 2JZ's into everything. Top Secret (the tuning company) famously put the 1GZ-FE into a JZA80, and twin turbo'd it at the same time, producing some crazy HP figure. Have also seen someone doing a hotrod project with one...
I'd love to see an Aristo sporting a minor buldge/scoop on the bonnet, only to reveal a supercharged 1GZ-FE inside. You'd need custom pistons made up to lower the compression (think it's something like 10.5 stock?), but holy crap it'd be awesome.
Mind you, it's not a cheap engine. If I remember correctly, the halfcuts sell for 10k+. To save a lot of problems, you'd definitely want to use the stock ECU too since there aren't many people supporting V12's in the aftermarket these days, lol. Could probably do 2x 6cyls for air/fuel but getting ignition might be a problem.
But yeah, anyone heard of them being used in the JZS chassis?
it fits i have measured it up, u need to run 2 seperate computers , like two 2jz power fcs, top secret did it with 2 hks fcons but tuning over here would be hard, i have found an engine, loom and computer in japan for under 5 k before ......
