ok..

so trying to get an alarm installed on my risto. but it seems most of the bigger car places wont touch my car, and when he went to ask "the guys out the back" they laughed at him and said they wont touch it!

so have any of you adel ppl had an alarm installed to your aristo yet? or can anyone recommend someone to install an alarm?!

cheers jeff

Yeah wasn't bragging mate just letting you know that I did it and I don't fit alarms for a living Smile

I posted some pics and info on here (I think, or was it on the UK site???), that detailed the wires I intercepted for the indicators, central locking, door switch and I think ignition cut.....

I had mine "professionally installed" for the first time in the Aristo and it was the biggest mistake ever.

The guy did it worse than me, broke my panels, and didn't even fit it right.

I went back and redid it to suit myself as it was just shocking.

It's really not hard to do yourself mate - you'll probably be better off both sound-of-mind, and definately out-of-pocket wise.

I got mine installed at Tisonics in Norwood yesterday. They seem to know what they are doing and pretty good prices also. I got the $300 one.

It works pretty good, except that I can't trigger the alarm when I try opening the doors. Will need to follow up with them today about it.

It was $300 installed - Check the link I supplied in my last post Smile

Dropped the car off in the morning before work and picked it up after work - I could have picked it up a bit earlier tho.

I take back what I said earlier - the alarm is working as it should. The Tisonics guy told me that most modern alarms don't go off when you try to gain entry to a locked vehicle. The alarm is only tripped once the interior light is activated by opening a door/boot.

You can also add a microwave interior/exterior sensor for a further $150.

Tisonics doesn't deal with Aristos too often but since the technician installed mine yesterday he should have a good grip with the wiring on with yours if you decide to go with them.

I better check with insurance on this one... I've yet to get insurance but should be hooking it up this week sometime. JustCars is looking good on this one.

JustCars:

The Following Item(S) Must Be Fitted To Your Car For Your Car To Be Covered In The Event Of Theft Or Attempted Theft: Australian Standard Immobiliser.
