Hey guys, i couldnt find a write up on How to Remove the Water pump proceedure.
I have gone through How to section on this Forum and found How to Remove Radiator, thermostat, Fan & Fan shroud but nothing on actual Water Pump Removal....
Can any body help me out so i can suss out if its my water pump (Most likely is but just wanna be sure)
But the looks, the leakage (coolant) is dripping down onto the water pump.....is their a hose their coming down into the water pump
I have checked my oil and its fine, not milky or any thing like that. Motor did smokeor doesnt smoke at all. & all sounds mechanically fine.
Would the water pump make ANY sort of noise if it was FUKD??
Expecting the worst being its a water pump but fingers crossed maybe a hose.
If water pump will be going Supra Pump with Ford Twin Fans setup.
Any help/assistance would be ORSM thanks guys. _________________

If this helps.....My coolant/radiator Temp was as per normal and fine.
When i notice that my coolant was leaking when i got to work,....the engine wasnt hot nor the actual coolant for the 45mins drive that i drove it.
Car was driving as it should be, sounded fine and ran fine.
Thanks and hope this helps you to help me _________________

Have you checked it's not simply leaking out the bottom edge of the top radiator hose? (engine-side)
That thing splits all the time.. then drips down onto the pump and associated bits stuck underneath it.
When it cools down abit, run your hand around the edge where the hose joins the engine and see if it's wet or got coolant residue on it. (Don't do it when it's hot or it will burn your hand lol) _________________

Last freaked with by Kanok on Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:52 pm; freaked 1 time in total
By the looks my is leaking on top of my water pump where the hose goes straight up above the water pump also looks like its connects to the bottom radiator hose but so I'm not 100% if it is actually my water pump...., maybe a hose/ gasket or o ring if that makes sense. What r people's thoughts? _________________

I believe he means the "tell tale" hole Which you can see in the pic above with a trickle of water leaking out of it. Its basically a warning system to let you know the pump is on the way out, and water is getting passed the seals in the pump. This could be your problem, but if you think your water is coming from above the pump then it could be a couple of other things.
1/ The gasket/sealant on the top rad hose water neck isn't sealing properly anymore for some reason.
2/ Check the hoses feeding water to the turbos that come off the water neck
3/ There is a short steel pipe, that goes between the water neck and the water pump (its a bypass tube) its is sealed at either end by a o-ring, one of the o-rings could be damaged. Or the pipe could possibly have corroded thru and could have a very small hole which causes it to leak just a little bit.
Find yourself a small mirror an inspection mirror on a extendable rod would be awesome, and have a check over these things. Its not hard to diagnose these things there is not a lot of places water can leak from around there. You've just got to get your head in there and look... _________________

This. Us internet detectives playing along at home are not in a position to diagnose your issue for you..

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this way Chappo. The internet makes people so lazy "ill just jump online and ask the forum" when if half of the issues people get could be diagnosed in 5 mins if people used there eyes and a bit of lateral thinking. _________________

That's is a fair comment, but considering I have already had a Good look (serveral times too) in the engine bay regarding my issue, I then will search the net just for a bit of assistance if im stuck in a rut. I don't just use this forum for its knowledge which I did think that's what the forum was also about. I use this forum inly as a last resort if I have trouble shooting. I don't just have a problem & log straight onto the forum to get people to fix/diognose my problem, I do get my hands dirty & I do try to diognose it myself. Only at the very very last resort would I need to get a mechanic to have a look if I can't diognose it myself. But that Obviously cost money. I know I would rather try get peoples ideas/oppinions on stuff so then I know more about this kinda stuff for the future & or if n e body else needed help. I think that's a fair to say! Just my two cents any ways! _________________
