Just wondering if anyone knows what this is stuck down with? Should this just clip in. Mine doesn't sit flush, it sticks out a little if that makes sense

Kind of looks like the interior is glued to it with some black crap Confused Or should these clips just hold the interior material in too

thats weird, you normally just put a small flat blade under the rear end of the switch and lift from the rear and the front slides back toward the rear

Might just try and rip it out then. Maybe one of the clips is buggered and this is why it isn't sitting perfect

Just chiming in to something you probably already know but...

From factory, they clip in. Got a metal tab thing on front and back that hugs the panel. But with prodding and poking over the years these often break or just get loose.
I've seen more than 1 with the same application of 'black crap' to the underside of it to stick it down. (That silicon glue stuff)
As it was never designed to have a gap here, usually this makes them stick up a bit.. especially as the japs that did it seem to use an entire canister of the stuff just on the one switch. Confused Either way, I've not really found a 'fix' as such. You'll need a new switch panel - one with intact clips. Or just reduce the amount of sticky stuff in there and stick it back down.
