Hy all, just a question, probably a silly question.....
Just wanting to change all my stock vacuum line hoses (black) to silicone type.
I purchased one blue silicone vacuum hose for my bov line which fits on snug as perfect but I notice the hose inside is a tiny bit smaller...thus I would believe wouldnt b letting in/transferring air as much....?
Would I b right in saying that? Is it bad in any way if it is a slightly smaller hole than stock?
Driving seems as per normal....sound of the bov sound fresh and smooth as...
Well hope you can assist thanks.....
If not, I'll go down to shop & buy bigger hoses of the silcone type vacuum hose...guy at shop stated these silicone hoses don't need clamps as they r suction type hoses and very heat proof. Just the bigger ones seem like I'll need a clamp...possibly zip ties....one on the bov just fits so perfect.
Got em at autosprint fyi _________________

bit smaller isnt going to hurt............but i would zip tie them foresure hey
Cool....well I'm gonna go and buy more so I can have all lookin that blue style in tha engine bay....
But thinking getting the bigger hose and zip tie-ing em. What happens if the hose is a slightly bigger than stock.....? Is that better thus letting/transferring air between the lines if the hoses r bigger?

Those hoses help measure and transfer pressure around the engine. Bigger hose means the more air that has to be sucked out/ pushed in before the thing at the other end gets a accurate measurement, there fore a smaller pipe would respond faster. The catch is tho that go too small and air wont travel at all

thats about as bang on as you can say it...
the air is static, its taking a sample, so it doesnt need to 'flow' air, so you can get really small (2mm ID) and still be fine, thats why you see alot of boost gauges with those really small white plastic lines! _________________
