Hi guys, I posted in the new members thread but being a member of other forums, those types of threads seem to be overlooked often, and I have a few questions regarding Aristo's before making my purchase
I currently do not have an Aristo, although I will be purchasing one soon, either a second hand one from WA for around 10-12k after i come back from my holiday from europe in febuary, or I will import one after I get off my P plates (late december 2010...)
I've loved japanese cars, mainly skylines when I was younger, although I'm not a fan of them anymore, as they're so damn common. I've grew fond of the japanese Toyotas from the 90s, especially for the Aristo, as it is a luxury, cheap car, with a large amount of power, and sleeperish :p
The only questions I have as of now are:
- I've found one for sale with about 130,000km (WA owner etc). Its fairly modded and has a boost controller, so I'm sure it has been thrashed, but i'll never know how much. I plan for the aristo that i purchase to be a daily driver for 5 or so years.. Should i stay away from these types of cars and try to purchase a bone stock one?
- Are there many hassles with importing an Aristo from Japan, and which places in Perth would you recommend that I give my money to import an Aristo for me?
If anyone can help me with this, I will be forever grateful
I'm not sure if these questions have been answered before, but if they have, tell me to search and I will. Thanks. _________________

welcome mate!!
Sometimes it can be good buying a car thats unmolested and other times u will be wishing u had bought a modded one. If u buy a stock one it will be cheaper to buy and then u have to get parts and install them, this can be both good and bad, good coz u get to decide what parts u want and u learn all about the car when ur putting them in. But bad coz if u have to put lots os parts in that are a bitch to install it sucks. If you buy one modded already u run the risk of it being thrashed by the previous owner, and also some modifications may be dodgey (as i found) and u also dont get to decide what is done to the car.
U could try what i did, i bought one slightly modified (rims coilovers zorst) and then if u dont like it sell the rims (which will give u more then stock wheels) and use that money to buy the rims u really want. Its not fool proof by any means but its cheaper lol
welcome and stay away from FABCAR, thats all i can say, they sell stock risto's for WAY TOO MUCH!!!
17, 18k for a near stock one with 100K+ on the clock is a rip off!!!
easier to stay inside oz and get one, you'll have troubles with importing, everyone always has some type of issue!
+1 for buying a modded car already, mine turned out to have coilovers with TRD brakes (as shit as they are)

anywho... yeah speak soon dude
happy new year
hey dude, sorry, i'm not really interested in silver aristos, mainly into black and white 2-tone (unless you can get them in white without the second tone) :p
thanks for offering though

Thanks for this advice, although I know pretty much all cars (especially turbo's) have been thrashed, I will never know exactly how far it has been pushed, etc. No worries about mods, the one that i'm looking at has brand-name gear.
Thanks about the idea about the wheels, I would probably end up changing them at some point

Fabcar cars are genrally very high quality so the prices are justified as they usually come with a warrenty to i think. _________________
