After going on a cruise today i had a chance to test out my cars top speed, thinking it was ment to stop at at 180km/hr i was surprised that the needle kept going to where 220 would approximately be. The needle stopped when it hit the trip computer needle thing.

I thought all aristo's were speed limited, the only thing i could think of would be the fact that i had the traction control fuse pulled. Would this be the reson?

Thanks
Michael

you might have a mines ecu or something like that which would take the speed cut out

'Ye might have de-limiters installed in hard to see locations ?

To de-limit a MK1 Aristo, the only viable currently available choice,
is the complex but extremly effective HKS SLD T6...

Seen this written on the net enough to reckon it is correct, although I too haven't tested it.

Removal of the TRC fuse will also remove the speed limiter.

That's how I'm running my Mines ECU at the moment, as my Mines doesn't remove cut.

Sorry to resurrect a thread from the dead.

Can anyone let me know if traction control is standard on the Aristo through the years?

We believe traction control is standard on all Aristo's.

Could be true mate, I think almost all Aristo's in Australia are 2JZ-GTE.

So just pulling the fuse would help for now? hmm.. how bout a switch wired to the circuit so you have TRC around town and in the wet.. and no limiter on the Autobahn.. Smile

How does one remove the cruise controls 110kmh limit ?(very silly imo)

I've done that hack on the Soarer, it's a bit of a pig to get at the top bolt but if you make sure that you have a 1/4" socket set with an extension bar and a universal drive adaptor it's real easy. The actual soldering bit is dead easy as well.
