Mate, you have a really nice clean engine there.
Mine was sludged beyond belief. I didn't take a picture when I first found it, probably coz I was too upset. LOL. There were 'oil termite mounds' on top of the caps!
That is the result after attempting to clean the thing on the car before deciding to remove the head.

who ever it was that cleaned ur head done a good job.
I hated it when i would get a sludgy as hell head come in n i gotta strip it n tank it n the shit still there then kero wash it n other shit. The head i hated the most was the sr20. The easiest one to clean was off a mx5, i actually liked working on that head, the design and everythn that u wont see cos its usually all blocked by a rocker cover.
I learnt quite abit of head work but now im unemployed lol....... can pressure test, hardness test, vac test, straightness, crack test, deck blocks, surface heads and manifolds, cut valve faces, lap valves, shot peen, change guides, n other shit n now im a bum _________________

I think I have worn piston rings, so the petrol gets past, mixes with the oil, and cleans the engine out
meh, sh!t happens. lol
or maybe I have a leaking injector, resulting in the same thing.
its clean though!
Oil sample kit should only cost you 29 bucks or so and they email and snail mail you a report on what is in your oil etc. I think I'll do mine next service as it would be interesting to know.

i had a ls7 come into work last week, and the intake manifld had melted(car cought fire) and the intake ports where filled with the melted manifold,
had to chisel the plastic out, took a couple hours but they came up pretty good, no pics but. _________________
I've replaced my gaskets now, but I don't hold much hope of it not leaking to be honest, I dunno, just me, I'm a pessimist.
AND! anyone wanted to do this, with the engine still fully intact, the wiring that runs across the rocker covers, is a pain in the butt!
I couldn't get some of the plugs undone to move it, and even if I could, I still don't think I would have been able to lift it entirely out of the way, so I just forced it up, and wedged it on the plate behind the timing belt.
