Got it dropped in for a shift kit while I was off being traumatised by a holiday with people with really badly behaved kids.

Turns out that the flaring I was getting was worn clutches so the box is getting rebuilt, 1.5 shift kit, 2500 stallie. Prolly going to be 3 grand poorer when I pick it up but it should be a different car at least.

i ate my box 2 weeks ago also. but all i did was get a second box for $200 and chucking that in. and as for the stall im not sure if you knw this but stock stall is around 2200 anyways (but not too many can get it to stall that high) this is the reason im going to get either a 2800 or 3000 one. wat you reckon hte difference will be between mine and yours??

Yours would launch better for sure - not sure how daily driveability would change.

but if you compare the 2800 and the 2500 its just 300rpm more... so im still thinkin there wont be too much difference will there. o well ill ask jayvee as he had a 3000 stall before i think so he will know the difference.. let me know how your car feels after the 2500 install ay. but i guess you'll have a built box so it mite be a bit different to mine...

it drives almost exactly the same ,it just leaves the line quicker and comes on boost quicker, thats why i want i bigger converter like the 3800-4000 so it comes on full boost quicker again and theres no lag at all

I'll find out tomorrow when hopefully the converter arrives and the box goes back in. They rebuilt the converter to gain a fair bit but how much is still up in the air.

The tab so far for ext cooler, shift kit, full rebuild on the trans and the stally is about $3400. They fit my torsen at no charge because I can't get the fucker on the truck hoists at our workshop.
