Hey guys, while my car was at compliance, i noticed it had a single 3" cat back, now not having much idea on how loud a @J is, could you guys give my your thoughts on how loud your different exhausts are from inside??

The reason i ask, is this will be the family daily, and i dont want a loud car, but if its sound deadend well enough, then i dont mind what it sounds like outside. I just need it comfortable for long drives, and bareable day-to-day for my partner and my kids.

Dont get me wrong, i love the sound of a 2J, i just dont want a headache from it!!!

All thoughts and comments appreciated! Wink

unless its something like a hks super silent or a fujitsubo thingo then i reckon it will be kinda loud. but then again every exhaust is different especially if its a custom made. go for a drive an then if you dont like it get a little plate made and bolted up around the cat converter. cheaper then getting a new exhaust and you still get a bit of rumble Very Happy

Got HKS Silents on mine and I think it's pretty sweet.

Idling, there's a bit of rumble and cruising along, it's very quiet - listening to music is no problem.

When you push it above 4000rpm, that's when your pants get a wet patch from the ROAR and the mrs starts complaining Razz

twin 2.5 .... good idle, sounds a bit dirty tho... no cats ect as the boys will tell you, but yeah in the end when im driving i can barely hear it, and of course ne kinda music will cancel it out. you really need something 3" or above but as said, custom made.... you never what its gonna sound like... im just glad myn is a good idol and good on boost but quitet when i need it

Mine's about this loud.

>--------------------------------------------<

The twins keep things under control very well when operating on the first turbo, when the second comes in they really thunder (providing you have a good exhaust system)

My thing can be a little droney at low revs...but I have a 3" system from the back of the turbo right the way through...2 mufflers and a 'JV' cat Cool

Well it runs a 3" system too, albeit about 600mm long and only one rusted out muffler Smile

Zee's system, twin mufflers @ rear (the big oval ones not cannons) with a really large centre muffler keep is nice & quiet, a lot different from the Soarer I had before.

Same here, you can hear the turbos over the exhaust. My friends say they always know when im coming because they can hear my turbo's spooling a while before i get there haha.

just get a new one , mild still be about a grand.
Which ever way you look at it the exhaust wont be too bad because of the 2 cats. Its fairly restricted stock anyway. Plus cruising round on first turbo as a daily wont be that loud. AND Aristos have great sound deadening.

you'll find that if you close the doors and wind up your windows in the aristo, you'll barely be able to hear anything from the outside world..
