Just a quick one before i look into this further. But it seems that my brake pedal is fairly easy to push in all the way. I cant remeber if this has happened since ive had the car, but ive only noticed it in the past few weeks. Braking ability does not seem to be affected, and it's not drinking fluid as far as i can see.
Any suggestions to what it might be? Or is it a normal thing? Or something i shouldnt worry about?
is this at start up or after a few minutes after? I can hit the bottom till the nitrogen pressure has built up which should be 10 or so seconds after start up.
weird, so when the nitrogen is being pumped is it quiet or loud? Probley no nitrogen left or the motor or a valve is gone. When i had to replace mine it still didnt hit the floor just and it was pretty rooted.
yeh apparently havent heard anyone doing it thou, aristoman told me a bike shop would do it so try there and tell us how much it cost if you do it wouldnt think it would be expensive. I got a spare booster if the one i have shits its self to try it but havent yet.
yeah mate its fine... give it a good flogging on twisty roads.. particularly ones with nice big cliff faces on the other side of the guard rail... lots of sudden braking... the later the better.....
so i guess when you put to the floor your standing still? Coz it would lock up wouldnt it? There would be no way to put it to the floor without doing it moving. Air pocket maybe?

yeah i only put my foot to the floor when idling, the braking is like normal so i dont need to put it to the floor whilst moving but it would definately lock up/activate the ABS if i did.
The nitrogen side of things only helps with assistance, so low nitrogen generally only results in teh pump running longer, and if you had almost none then you would have reduced assistance (difficult to press pedal - hard brakes).
The Aristo master cylinder certainly is a lot more spongy than other cars I reckon, usually you could pump the brakes up nice and firm with a couple of presses in any other car, but in Aristo's you can generally always seem to get the pedal to go all the way.
Anyhoo spongy pedal is usually air in the lines, a flush & bleed usually helps. There is a link on this site to a 'how-to' on a Soarer site that explains how to bleed the system.
