http://www.nolimitevents.com/

When i went to powercruise I was getting pissed on by everything, there not very well suited to track work but i guess if you have some coilovers stiffer anti-roll bars ect it might not be to bad.

AHG also hosts track days. been to a couple now organised by others.

a group event, just doing laps of their big circuit one at a time, cost around $35 per person for half a day

i've also done a couple of courses there at about $150 for half a day - consisted of driver training, brake and avoid, cornering, etc. instructor drove my car, then was a passenger and gave me pointers, and lap after lap i improved, i think Eeek Dance it's hard in an Aristo.... big heavy barge

IMO aristo's arent track cars, unless your talking about the drags Smile

Otherwise check out the WASCC website, they handle all the driving events at barbagallo that you can/could enter.

Im 98% sure there isnt anywhere in perth where you can just rock up and have a thrash, gotta be an organised event.

that is not what i want to hear :-( but i dont want to enter comp or anything like that i just want sometime on a track without having to pay for lessons, basicly a thrash session to see what the car can really do with out other cars and police worries. Its not a concern that the aristo aint a track set car it still handles and has more power than anything else i have driven or been in, it can drift and thats all i need to have a good time. So there agh days are they often? Really like to do this before i have to sell my car that i love. Anyone interested in a track day sometime? It would be so much better with atleast another aristo to have a good race with.

they can be organised by a club or group of people. from memory only on weekdays. the afternoon session was from like 2 til 5 or something like that.

i was going to post an eoi for a club day for us but thought i'd leave it until after the holidays (mainly because i need new rear rubber Eeek Dance ). but if there's interest then i'll contact AHG.

i'm guessing you don't want to do the driver training course?

I am definatly in for a racing arvo worth a half day off work and i hope others will be interested, any idea on the min amount of people needed? If not enough maybe some from other forums like supra or something if anyone knows people there.

powerskids at motorvation in late jan i think? at the motoplex is more the aristo's go Wink

i sold my land barge because they are anything BUT track cars. i wouldnt even bother taking one there in all honestly unless you have spent some decent money on suspension and brakes. They are big heavy powerful cars, and to try and carry that weight and power around a corner, or try and pull it up, repeatedly for about 10-15 minutes over and over again is going to take some $$$$$ in one of these.

my FD is much better suited to it Razz (although not much different on the bank account.. i think FD = financial difficulties!!)

if you know someone who is a member of the WASCC bargs raceway then you can go with them in your own car under there membership for race/tune days. that used to be the rules anyway back in 97. be warned that bargs absolutely loves killing brakes, have even seen some porsches driving very slowly home on wanneroo road. with a 1.7t risto under full brakes coming down the hill onto the right hander on the main straight, i think you may need a parachute if your doing a decent speed. i must say thumbs up for wanting to give it a go. theres only one way to find out. its a shame the only decent straight bargs has is at a 45 degree angle....into a hard right Razz

enjoy.

yeh them brakes are something had a bit of fun on the way home and after 3 corners in a row doing about 140 the shakes were bad but if you push harder on the pedal the shakes dont seem to be as bad. I got most of my brake pads left so it should be ok just try not to late brake too much. Other aristos to race would be great as we are all in the same boat as far as brakes are concerned so atleast its even haha. It good that there is interest in this be much more fun i recon Smile

Some slotted rotors and Green Stuff, maybe Red Stuff for track days would make the stock brakes surprisingly better.

you would definately want red stuff as a minimum for track work, if not the yellow's if you intend on going pretty fast.

My mates GTR is no slouch and it ate half the yellow stuffs in one track day with a set of dba 4000's. green stuffs would have you out of pedal by about the second flying lap probably!

nope, normal(ish) driving. not sure what pads they were but they were crap. I've since replaced them with Lucas pads and I love 'em. They didn't let me down on the track day after consecutive hard laps... could smell them though Smile
the only problem is they're dusty as hell and apparently chew through the discs quickly. The dust I can confirm but the discs Dunno
