hey, just a curiosity really...
I own a jzs147, which has been converted to a R154 box, with a few mods and about 240 rwKW's @ 1bar...
I live in New Zealand, and as far as im aware, and everyone else ive talked to, its the only one in NZ..
Does any one know of any other manual aristos in NZ?
Have you guys got many in Australia?

Thanks,

Lincoln[/img]
Hey mate, from NZ aswell

Did you buy that green manual Aristo off trademe?

So far thats the only manual one I know of. Next year I'll probably be the second manual one in the country.

NZ as well here..

I know the car you mean, remember looking at getting it when it was like 20k on trademe many years ago! Ended up picking up mine (auto unfortunately) simply because it was in town and far cheaper. Will eventually go manual, but damn its not an easy job after doing extensive research into it.

Many other Aristos in CHCH? I didnt see any when cruising round up there when went to the disturbed concert recently.

There's a least two in the UK that I know of that are on clubaristo.net as well as mine that is nearing completion.

One belongs to Tom S and is a TT with a 6 speed Getrag, imported like that.
Another belongs to HE7RO and is a V8 with a 5 speed R154, converted in the UK.

And then there is mine which is a T51 Single with a 6 speed Getrag also converted in the UK.

there's a blue one from here as well, was in aucks, not sure where it is now. knew the previous owner back in 2004 when he had it at suprafest '04 and got about 260rwkw. had a nice kit, 18's, etc. really tidy. haven't seen it in a while though.

This one http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15328 - It's up for sale at the moment too for quite a reasonable sum for what it is.

There will be a full write up on how mine was done when it is 100% up and running, Roadside Tech has started one off here http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17334 with pictures.

Did that guy make up the remote shifter himself? Not sure why he didn't buy an R154 that came with the remote shifter on it?

Great, will be good to have info on somebody who went to a V16x box, an easier swap than R154.

People interested can also check out my thread here:
http://www.jzs147.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212

I's been bumped down to page 3 on the members cars because I have not posted in ages, but has a fair bit of info on my R154 conversion.

Also, I get asked at least once every few weeks by somebody in the world who has either thrown a manual in an Aristo, or done a 2J conversion on something else why they have a 5,500rpm rev limit.

There are threads:
http://www.jzs147.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3529&highlight=rev+limit
http://www.jzs147.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2217&highlight=rev+limit
http://www.jzs147.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1636&highlight=rev+limit

If you read those you will sort it Smile

I just converted my aristo to a r154. I'm located in Canada. I think it is the best mod to do. It turns the car into a beast.

We don't get front cuts in the UK. It's impossible to find anything other than a Mk3 Supra turbo 'box.

I mean that there seem to be a lot of front cuts (as in front half of a car) imported into Australia (and the US), so it's comparatively easy for you to find a Soarer or Chaser gearbox.

Nobody imports front cuts into the UK, so it is (literally) impossible to find a 1JZ-GTE manual 'box.
