hey, just a curiosity really...
I own a jzs147, which has been converted to a R154 box, with a few mods and about 240 rwKW's @ 1bar...
I live in New Zealand, and as far as im aware, and everyone else ive talked to, its the only one in NZ..
Does any one know of any other manual aristos in NZ?
Have you guys got many in Australia?
I know the car you mean, remember looking at getting it when it was like 20k on trademe many years ago! Ended up picking up mine (auto unfortunately) simply because it was in town and far cheaper. Will eventually go manual, but damn its not an easy job after doing extensive research into it.
Many other Aristos in CHCH? I didnt see any when cruising round up there when went to the disturbed concert recently.
nah hardly any round here aye, which is good ... ive been living here bout 3 years now, and seen all up probably 5 jzs147's... maybe my eyesight isnt that good, but i certainly look out for them...
There's a least two in the UK that I know of that are on clubaristo.net as well as mine that is nearing completion.
One belongs to Tom S and is a TT with a 6 speed Getrag, imported like that.
Another belongs to HE7RO and is a V8 with a 5 speed R154, converted in the UK.
And then there is mine which is a T51 Single with a 6 speed Getrag also converted in the UK. _________________

there's a blue one from here as well, was in aucks, not sure where it is now. knew the previous owner back in 2004 when he had it at suprafest '04 and got about 260rwkw. had a nice kit, 18's, etc. really tidy. haven't seen it in a while though. _________________

There will be a full write up on how mine was done when it is 100% up and running, Roadside Tech has started one off here http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17334 with pictures. _________________
I's been bumped down to page 3 on the members cars because I have not posted in ages, but has a fair bit of info on my R154 conversion.
Also, I get asked at least once every few weeks by somebody in the world who has either thrown a manual in an Aristo, or done a 2J conversion on something else why they have a 5,500rpm rev limit.
I mean that there seem to be a lot of front cuts (as in front half of a car) imported into Australia (and the US), so it's comparatively easy for you to find a Soarer or Chaser gearbox.
Nobody imports front cuts into the UK, so it is (literally) impossible to find a 1JZ-GTE manual 'box. _________________
