I have noticed that some people are having a hard time selling their Aristo.
I think they are a great car and very reliable.
Why do you guys think the Aristo market appears so low right now?

yeah seems to be, I'm really looking forward to selling my problem-ridden-but-otherwise-nice HD 929 and explaining its obvious issues to prospective buyers Doh'

If I hadn't organised my import risto a few months ago, I'd probably be looking locally right now. Would have made finance a lot easier. There's been a few damn nice examples on the for sale section here lately (interstate, but hey it'd be worth the trip for some of 'em).

Sales in everything thing have gone down not just Aristos, petrol prices and interest rates are to blame.

I should have bought an evo...... For what the aristo has cost me so far I'd have gotten an Evo 8 MR -.-

Ah well, too late to turn back now.

Mine has been fs for about 6 or so months now and is bloody cheap for what it is.

Have had a few serious people interested but all basically waste my time by coming and having a look at it, drive it and then muck around trying to get finance - which falls through due to it apparently being an import - which for some reason insurance companies don't like.

Spending is very tight atm for a lot of people due to the increased cost of living (petrol, groceries, rent or increased interest rates on mortgages).

Although WA is currently booming due to the mining sector it seems those with the cash are more inclined to spend it on new cars rather than go s/h.

Aristos are damn good value for money cars if people are looking for something which is comfy/family orientated but still has enough power to have some fun with, so it's not the car that is stopping people from buying - it's their financial status.

Everyone is right on this.

I only drive mine on the weekends now. It costs me $50 for a Travel Pass (Bus & Train) for the week. To drive costs me a tank of fuel ($140). You do the math!

They are a fantastic car to drive on the road, very comfortable and have a 'presence' - you always get looks from people on the road and the sidewalk.

But its a big, heavy car - a limo - and people are very careful when buying imports. The usual imports (Silvias, EVOs, Rexs and Skylines) are performance cars bought by the younger market for a purpose, and its not cruising!

If you've bought one and can afford to drive it, enjoy it. If you're looking for another car with a fun factor go the EVO! You can get EVO 7s now for under $10K (off the auction floor).

ive gone the other route.
had a full blown modified 2000 wrx pushing 220kw at all fours, and it was a top car and bloody fast.
but, the aristo i have now is great too and the other end of the scale.
its more vip style, and does get looks your right.
the power potential is huge as we all know, but at this stage of my life/car modding i choose to drive the aristo.
its a matter of buying the right car for the right reason i guess.
you wouldnt try and track an aristo and you wouldnt vip a rex or evo.
happy with my choice and decision for now, until i bored !!!

hahahaha, i had someone in a vx r8 say take your girlfriend car home when i had my GTR familia, pulled up along side of him at the lights and said to him "dude this 'girls' car will fucking shit on ur dinosaur", he almost got out the car to knock me out, but instead simply replied "well run me then pussy." i dialed up 9 grand and side stepped the clutch, bagging all 4 to around 110 and leaving him around 4 car lengths behind!!!!!! next set of lights i wound down the window and said not bad for a girls car ey? stupid v8 drivers

the thing that gets me is the level of stupidity with a v8 driver or fan. They think they are pretty smart because they know that 8 cylinders is better than 6 .. Therefore must be better than any other car with a number less than that beneath it .

And never ever try and talk tech with a V8 owner or driver.

I saw a conversation between a commonwhore and an evo at some traffic lights on west terrace once.

Como - "Oi! do a skid"
Evo - "It's a 4WD"
Como - "Oh, do 2 skids!"

-.- sigh
