Hey Ken,
And Sorry Midge. I am not going to be that Legend!
It actually sounds right to me! i just wasn't game enough to go the next step. I did poke my hand behind there as stated at one stage but figured that it was actually mounted inside the enclosure and not underneath.
One very important thing to note. You also must remove all the computer modules on the Aristo to get to it.
He's a couple of pics to prove my attempt!!!! jzs147.com.au dedication. It was for the team!
10 points to the first person to achieve the goal and prove it with pictures, cos I have to tell you again...... I AM NOT GOING TO TRY THAT AGAIN FOR A WHILE. Believe me. I have the rest of my car all over the house and the engine I can handle. I can't take it lying on the car footwell for that long!!!!!!!

Or plain stupidity. I just kept going...trying to get rid of that ding ding ding noise. Then, alas, I had to put it all back together without a result. In actual fact, it still is not quite back together! But that's ok, my turbos are still sitting in the hallway and half the intake manifold on the floor here in the study!
Strange. Works in my car. Are you sure you have the ignition in the ON position?
Yeah I'm very sure, the dinging stays on even when the ignition is on. It will only turn off when I start the car. I assumed it was the same for everyone?

...UH OH!!
What's the chance of someone working out how to modify the wiring so that it only dings with the key in the off position?
Er none? theres no way of knowing if you have the key in or out then.
not exactly true. you put the key in and the steering wheel comes into position, ie it knows when the key is in. But I agree that it's unlikely anyone would bother to change wiring for this.
If anyone worked on it, it'll be for how to kill the buzzer totally... _________________

When vacuuming out the car I like to listen to music and quite usually I've got the drivers door open too. I would love to get rid of the ding ding noise as it drives me crazy!!

nice work. were you able to remove it pretty easily? _________________

What about just removing the switch that goes onto the ignition barrel? It is just under the front of the barrel and takes 5 minutes to gain access and remove the two screws that hold it in.
Based on the suggestion that it should only beep when in the off position, it should be possible to insert a small normally closed relay to run off the acc supply so it will only beep when the ignition is off and key is in by inserted it in series with the switch. Alternatively a switch could be inserted for temporary over-ride if it is required for some reason.
If this is done then there is no need to worry about the the buzzer.
Took it for a drive with the switch removed and the bits put back together. There were no side effects so I am very pleased with the outcome, so far.....
