A couple of questions; does anyone know how to cut the cruise control limiter? The auto door locking? (don't want to pull the solenoid) And WHY do you guys call it an Aristo??? Isn't it clearly spelt on the back of everyone's ride? Or am I being just being anal cause I speak Japanese?
The cruise control limiter is a bit of an iffy one I think. It's been covered by the Soarer people and I believe it's supposed to work on Aristo's too. I think it involves a little bit of soldering on the PCB of the cruise control ecu itself (or something like that...) Someone on here may have done it and had success?
Auto door locking I think involves simply snipping a wire that connects the ECU loom to the door locking module. I don't believe it's difficult. Once again though it's something I havn't personally done as I quite like it
As for the spelling... that's how they're spelt mate. I'm not sure what you've been looking at, but it clearly states on every single piece of original japanese thingy i've ever found that it's called an 'Aristo' not 'Arisuto'. Perhaps the japanese characters spell out Arisuto? But even the original advert I saw once (i think on youtube?) that dates from the early nineties with the japanese dudes on it speaking japanese, the guy quite clearly says 'Arizztoh', without the 'u'.

I go back to Oz 2-3 times a year and I still get asked "Is it true the Japs get rid of their cars at 40,000 kms?" Pretty funny.
Some people...
That said I do wonder what the average usage is for a car in Japan.. It's hard to tell over here as so many cars have been wound back a little/a lot. With a good public transport system and high population density it would make driving less practical, hence usage would be much lower, but whether or not 100k kms is a lot or not for 10-15yo cars would be quite debatable i'd say. Any insights?
Look forward to seeing you around!

Mate you are spelling it like the way the Japanese pronounce it. But it IS called An Aristo. That's how its spelt, on the car, on all the sales brochures, service books, and even when searching for parts I put 'Aristo' into google translate and it gives me this アリスト which is how I find Aristo parts - so mate you've got us all?
With Supra, I believe they pronounce it Supura, this is also how it translates back to engrish.

Oh dear, oh dear... I just ran out and looked at the back of my car... How can I never have noticed that??? Talk about a class of language in your head and what your eyes a looking at.
Feel like a complete d!ck. I apologise to everyone. I shall slink off and find a hole somewhere. Maybe go hybernate with a bear.
Thanks for the cruise info. That will be a Sunday job. As for the door locking, which wire to cut is what I need to find out.
Maybe I need to go out and say sorry to my car too... maybe that's why the last one left me... no, hang on, I sold that one... maybe I should track it down and say sorry to it... no hang on, the guy that bought it said he was sending it to South Africa... how do you say sorry in Zulu?
Aaah... bloody hell... great way to introduce myself on the ONLY forum I've ever joined.
Well, I guess all you parts wanting cheeky buggers will forgive me
Hi im Eddie from Adelaide just picked up my baby last week!
its a 1996 3.0V pearl white with a silver bottom half and dished 19" chromies
im thrilled with it! love the smooth power delivery, the looks, love the leather interior, sunroof, sound system, actually I love everything about it hehe
The only let down is its an open diff model, although i dont drift the car and drive it like a grandmother so no real biggie lol
My previous ride was a 1991 pearl white soarer TT. went well and sounded very nice but wasnt really my type of car just as well i lost interest in it when things got nasty. mechanically the car is good, compression is verystrong and it drives along nice and smooth, but the body is rough, thus I will be selling it very soon.
look forward to cruising around with you guys, take care

Hi all my name is Erwin and I just bought me an Aristo. It's a silver one with
sun roof and factory lsd. I bought it from PSI999 and am very happy with the car.
I bought it for my wife because she wanted one. I wanted the jzx100 but I am glad she talked
me into the Aristo. A good friend of mine has one too and we get plenty of looks when we cruise
around Townsville
Previous cars she's had
01 Magna
96 Voyager
98 Magna
96 Camry
93 Swift
and some of mine were
S1,2,3 RX7s
several 323s
Current
95 Aristo
78 323 (13b powered)
85 rx7 only 12a carby
Bloke, 30's, Married, 2 boys, like small modified lightweight cars with far too much power. Aristo is by far the biggest and heaviest car I have ever owned (3 times the weight of some I have owned) and goes against the grain but I love it. Fits in with family life very well too.
Michael aka binkibootstrap here - just picked up a 92 Aristo TT today from FABCAR in Perth - was after a Camry but my S13 son convinced me that I could get a decent Aristo for the same bucks - he's right and wow, they're quick! Just need the big rims and a loud exhaust for the VIP treatment - these forums and the site in general's very good and I will no doubt be referencing it frequently.
Ben here, been a happy Aristo owner for about two weeks.
My brother got me into the Aristo, he patiently imported one, a hot black 94 series two....which is on these forums.... under aristobren. I rushed out and bought one locally and have been really happy with the upgrade from my last car which was a 1964 Holden EH ute.
I currently live in Wagin, which is about 2.5 hours SE of Perth...so will be looking forward to making it back up for a meet n cruise someday!

1994 Silver with leather
Zeit 18's and FMIC
Can't imagine you'll see too many in Wagin mate....
Welcome aboard mate. _________________

Hey hey,
not exactly new on here but I haven't introduced myself properly. Names Michael but most people call me Greeny. 23 years old, storeman (till I find something better) in Adelaide.
Bought my Gray Aristo like........ 6 months ago, I think. Coilovers, 18" Wheels, EBC Brakes, new bored out steel wheeled high flowed turbos with bigger wastegates, 3" exhaust, HKS filter, Apexi Nea, Fcon2 EBC, Trust FMIC, Alpine stereo bits, MV auto stage 2 kit, stage 1 shift kit, PWR cooler. As some might know it's up to 270kw @ the wheels ( well 268.8 and it was a hot day so bite me , I'm saying 270 ) Was @ 18psi but anymore boost and the factory comp was pulling out timing..... so full ECU on the way.
Also a bike nut, got a 200hp 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa, non-speed limited. It's done 330kmh before i ran out of balls.
Looking forward to meeting up with some other Aristo boys sometime, and AIR re-opens in 4 months, apparently, yay!
