I've seen a few things on the net which suggest that August 1995 - 1997 models take a slightly different pad.

Anybody here own a car in this period able to confirm which brake pads they purchased? I need a new front set. Considering grabbing something through import monster but if theres cheaper and good stuff available locally i'll go for that.

Cheers.

are you going to the meet up on saturday at all?

If so, i will be there around 1ish, and i can bring the toyota oem pad i have. Then all you need to do is go into autobarn with it and they can overlay it on the bendix master book they have.

do NOT look in the ferrodo book. they have a listing for jzs147 and it is wrong!

just get them to look up lexus or toyota es400, or ls400, jzs161 etc and they will be able to match it no probs.

i know that the number in ferodo that says it is for jzs147 is the right size pad, but the lugs on the side are too fat so they wont fit in!

I have also noticed this?

If it helps, i have a '94 "pov pack" model (supposedly series 2), and I bought Endless EP261/EP281 which fit well. The *other* set is EP292/EP281.
I have attached some details...
The EP261 Fronts are 144x68mm and can be found here: linky
The EP292 Fronts are 144x64mm and have a slightly different shape around the hub. Here: linky

Hope that helps

To be honest, they look exactly the same to me Razz The only difference is a fully-convex or slightly-concave inside edge..

The way I see it, if the fully convex will fit then it's going to provide slightly more pad coverage on the disc, so I used them. I'll bet that the 292 would also fit my calipers/discs if i tried.

i recommend Lucas TRW brake pads, cheaper and slightly better than OEM, also readily availble at your nearest ABS, a bit dusty but that shouldnt bother you. www.autobrakeservice.com.au

Fronts DB1395 /GDB3235
Rears DB1396 /GDB1185
