Hi all,

My name is Brendan, im 25 and live in Adelaide. I have just joined the Aristo family, well i will be when i pick it up the first week in January! Its a silver 147V and is currently stock apart form some aftermarket rims. I was definately after a stock one as i get the fun of doing the mods over time.

Im originally a Celica nut, having owned 6 celicas from ta22 to st204. I still own a ta22 rally car and a highly modified ra23, the aristo being the daily driver upgrade from the st204(which is for sale on carsales so drop me a line if u know someone interested!)

I was never really a fan of turbochargers to be honest, and was pretty set on the idea that id never own a car with one. And now i have 2 of the buggers! But im pretty happy about it, in fact im stoked as i have been reading about all the mods you guys have been doing to your Aristo's and i cant wait to start bringing the power up and the quarter mile times down.

I look forward to chattin with u guys.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Hi All,

My name is Dwayne, and im from Bunbury WA (about 2hrs south of Perth). Im 20 years old and im the only guy driving around in Bunbury with an Aristo and that what i love about this car, the fact they are rare.

This is my first serious car.
Before this i was riding a RS 250 Aprillia (seriously fun) and driving around a get around car 95 lancer.
Have kinda pick up on the love for toyota's from my brother who has owned a supra, auto mark 2 and is now driving a 400hp mark 2 manual.

I have already ran a new exhaust system (3inch from the dump pipe, where it branches to twin 2.5inch into a pair of supercat muffles) and replaced the air filter with a 5inch K&N POD
Im really looking forward to further mods on this car and being apart of this forum.

Cheers

Hey Guys,

My name is Stephen and I'm from Mandurah WA. Im 21 years old picked up my Aristo last week.

Before this I owned a 1990 Maxima. I live with import nuts so decided it was time to upgrade and fell in love with the Aristo when i took it for a test drive.

The car is completely stock apart from aftermarkets rims and pod.

Cheers

Hi all

My name is Matt
From Melbourne. Hoppers Crossing to be precise.

currently car-less. had my daily turbo'd 31 wagon stolen on the 20th of dec.
and no insurance. (yes im an idiot etc). been a member of the 31skylineclub for nearly 5years now. as i have a 2dr HR31 as well thats a major project.

anyways ... im lookin to purchase my first toyota aristo in the next month/s. Its something ive always wanted.something cruisy and plenty power when i want it. and just plain pimp.

im a big supporter of "hellaflush" wheel fitment hehe. so dont be surprised i go out and get fat rims within the first 3months lol. actually have my eye on some 18x9 +26 and 18x10 +28 Stich Kampters on upgarage japan.

anyways hope to hang around and make the most of the club. cruises n shit.

for those that may be wondering.
this is my coupe

this "was" my wagon (still missing in action)

First off Welcome Matt Smile
Just thought i'd point out that Aristo's swallow 18s. If you are such a wheel nut (heheh geddit) then i'd advise 19s or 20s.
Have a look around and see what you like, good to have ya on board.

Agreed
welcome matt! sorry to hear about your r31 Sad
i thought exactly the same as rus when you mentioned 18s. it's a big car which swallows rims faster than Paris Hilton swallows.... nevermind. check out some of the member ride pics and you'll see Smile

as they say offset is everything

10s with a 25 offset is like thommos car. neat enough to put 265s on the back.

go lower than 25 ..less room for tire .. stretch em harder etc. anyways i'll stop whoring this intro thread. just hope i can get finances sorted for the new ride soon enough.

Hello everyone,

My name is Ben and im from Smithfield, Sydney.
I just got my Aristo today and am looking forward to drivin it around and after time modifying it. Its a 1996 Navy Blue Beast, I have only seen a hand full of aristo around my area and in my travels so i dont think there is many out in sydney (seems there is more in QLD & WA) but i am looking forward to a few aristo meet ups (if there is any in sydney lol).

It is a big different driving the aristo to my sprinter which is going away Bawling but atleast it is a very good upgrade and i like it.

Thanks Ben.

Welcome Vlad Very Happy

We have a fairly decent sized Adelaide contingent now. There was an SA cruise a while ago ( http://www.jzs147.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=196 ) and I'm sure the guys are keen to see another 'risto on the streets Smile

Gday, I'm Scott. Been living in Japan for over 10 years now. I teach at a university but also send cars to Oz small scale.

Just got my second Arisuto. A '95 V8 i-four (UZS143). I had one a couple of years back but sold it cause I wasn't happy with the fuel bill (not to mention the nasty vehicle tax we have to pay here). But always regretted selling it so just got another one. Even cheaper with fewer miles. $1700! Can't argue with the price. I'd give a turbo job a go but prefer the security of the 4WD up here in the snow country. Pluse I've always had a love affair with V8's.

Previous rides: '76 Celica (still got it, rusting under a tree on my parents farm near Walget!)
HQ Statesman with a 454 big block chevy (the dinosaur, that baby had CHARACTER!)
Series II Jag
then after coming to Japan
R32 Skyline GTS-4
WRX Sti v5
Mazda MX5
Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter
MX5 NA6
MX5 NA6
Hiace
Chevrolet 454SS
Arisuto V8 i-four
MX5 NA8
current i-four and just obtained '98 WRX Sti 22B

Have brought a few GT-Rs, MX5s, GTOs and RX7 into Oz but they don't count cause I only drove them a few times.

Anyway, being in Japan I might be able to help out parts wises.

A couple of questions; does anyone know how to cut the cruise control limiter? The auto door locking? (don't want to pull the solenoid) And WHY do you guys call it an Aristo??? Isn't it clearly spelt on the back of everyone's ride? Or am I being just being anal cause I speak Japanese?

I go back to Oz 2-3 times a year and I still get asked "Is it true the Japs get rid of their cars at 40,000 kms?" Pretty funny.

Anyway, that's my blurb. Nice to find this site and as the Japs say "Drive safety!"
