around $23,000 landed AND complied...would proberly end up cheaper and better to buy a dead stocker and do the conversion your self as compliance is going to be much more then 3k! _________________
i got trapped with them too... they advertised a jzx90 CHASER, which i paid for and was waiting on... was meant to leave on the 14th of whenever so i rang on like the 16th to see if it made the ship.. their reply was simply "didnt u get our email?" apparently compliance in the jzx90 series is limited to the mark 2...
i fail to see what i did wrong as THEY are the importers, ADVERTISED the car COMPLIED AND LANDED, happily took my money, and didnt think that news like this warrented a phone call....
they also wanted me to put up more money once i had found the aristo, and did not want to be out of pocket, so wanted to wait to sell the chaser before putting payment down on the aristo...
guys, thats called defamation and should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Defamation or "defamation of character," is spoken or written words that falsely and negatively reflect on a living person's reputation.
If you have to have a vent, email them directly or the governing body. It is an offense for you to say "What a mob of wankers" "Fuckin dodgy c**ts". As for most importers, they browse the forums, so its likely they will read your statements and "could" take legal action if they wish.
In all honesty, you can bring that car into australia and have it complied. Yes, it will need the gearbox swapped, brakes swapped for standard and a few other things that will most likely cost a lot more than its worth. What J-spec have done is offer an example of a 6speed aristo not commonly found to the market for someone to import it.
The car must comply with ADR's at the time of compliance, not before. If it was before, then no car with aftermarket brake pads would be allowed into the country! Hope you guys can understand that.
Also, the JZX90 series of chaser is eligible for import under sevs from years 1992-1996. Possible reasons they couldnt comply the car is, that they couldnt find a suitable RAW workshop locally, the year of the car was outside the allowable range, the car had previous accident history etc... Its very possible that the communication between the buyer and agent was not great causing some confusion. Yes i agree they should contact you, but think about how many hundreds of emails they receive each day. _________________

Solution-relocate site to Kazakstan there is no bullshit laws there so Jspec cannt really sue a foreign website in Australian laws, especially when their government simply doesnt give a shit.

And my emails get replied to right away. Also 2JZNOSHIT was very happy with them too thatÃÔ the reason I went with them, there not a bad company at IMO. _________________

spyder: Show me precendence of a company in Australia suing someone over an opinion posted on an online forum and i'll retract my statement.
Til then, I honestly believe that Jspec are pulling shit all over our screens with those baseless "guestimates" of what it's going to cost complied. Getting a 6speed into the country, ouch! They should do the right thing and just put up saying that it's going to cost a bundle to get it done and leave it at that instead of trying to get prospective people interested in a car that is simply too much trouble than it's worth.
ie Say "It will cost this much FOB, and the rest - good luck!" rather than "It's going to cost <This Much>." Then at the bottom having a disclaimer. That's just dodgy dodgy dodgy!!! _________________

Unless someone very recently got compliance for the JZX90 Chaser, as far as I know it's still only the Mark II that is compliable. When I spoke to the bloke who did all the testing for the Mark II, he said it was such a nightmare that he had no interest in doing the Chaser?

i was involved in a situation on another internet forum by where i was rather slandorus towards a buisness who ripped me off blindly and i wanted to spread the word about it.
The business in question contacted the admin staff stating that i had never been a customer of theirs, that all acusations were false and that they were going to proceed with legal action against the forum and its admin for not dealing with the situation.
Then i posted all the receipts, photos of the spark plugs that were corroded/rusted and worn down that looked like they were about 40,000 kms old in my 500km freshly rebuilt engine, and other evidence proving they were not only totaly in the wrong, but blatenly lied and tried to use stand over tactics to bully their way to get the stuff removed.
they backed down instantly and requested that their name and the business never be mentioned on the forum again. (stayed that way with a sticky thread with their request for about 5 years!)
