What is it with the japanese and adding aftermarket horns to their cars.

To me a horn is something that should be inconspicuous, not something big, blingy and ricey. Sure it is definitely a good thing to have, but they look bloody ugly imo.

Mine had 2 huge suckers that look like snails have been on steroids, needless to say I removed one of them pretty quick smart.

Anyone else have blingy horns on their aristo when it came in from jap land?

Yes mine does..
Some boat foghorn.. and there's a switch to swap over to a normal horn...
The farken wiring that runs through the engine bay is shocking..
Havent had time to even think about removing it all yet!

Those horns are a pair - one should be marked "H" for High and one marked "L" for Low. They work together to produce the final note (blast).

Cheers,

Peter

Cheers for that info, I might check to see if they are labelled.

purchase:

1x 12V air compressor
1x air tank
1x length of air hose
1x truck horn

Connect them all together and you get:

My uncle drives a Mack truck which has an air starter on it. He quite often shuts the engine off at the lights, just so he can start it again. Anybody who has heard one of these things operate would know just how loud they are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1RLUxp3Gpo

Yeah know that noise well.....

The Cat 793 Haul trucks at the mine use an air start, a little louder and longer lasting than the Mack in your post but you'd expect that.... Smile The air start is quite a bit louder than the engine itself....
