My powersteering rack is in need of replacement.
Just wondering if there are any places that do trade in reconditioned ones?

Preferably in WA Smile

I've a low km rack off my half cut. I'm in wa too.

Just buy a set of new tie rods / ball joints and you're good to go.

That would be awesome if I could grab that Aristoman Smile
How much do you want for it? How hard are they to change? Could I solo it or would I need help?

Looking at $230 for replacement rack. Ive changed two and im a backyarder mechanic, mates chipped in aswell.

Need to undo tie rods and i highly recommend you replace them while you're at it along with balljoints as already stated. Hardest part is dropping the steering because there's not much space to undo the bastid and getting that back in can be painful. Undo lines aswell so be prepared to have fluid dropped on you.

Couple an hour job then you'll need wheel alignment and probally need to reconfigure steering wheel to as the bastid will be out of whack but that's a 10 min job anyway.

These fit perfect fitted over 4 sets of these to Aristo's.

Last rack i'll have for quite sometime Sad

ps: do it yourself being you're already mechanically minded & you'll learn quickly about Aristo's.

Well I have pulled apart the front RHS to change the ball joint and bushes only to discover that the balljoint supplied from the ebay link above are both LHS!!

So my car is in bits, up on stands with no new ball joint to install Sad so angry right now!

On another note: Does anyone know how to get the castor arm that joins to the front LCA out?
The only way I can see it coming out is by removing the whole front subframe/engine crossmember.

Correct - To remove the LCA you need to drop the subframe. Only drop the one side at a time and it should be easier.

RHS you may need to also remove the steering link from the rack.

I'm over it.
I'm putting it all back together and paying someone to do it.

Just getting way too angry, and when that happens things get broken.
