just a quick one here lads.... changed a 147 dash in a (S2) for a member yesterday .
because it is an ..S2..and i could not lock the steering wheel down and out.... i decided to leave the keys in the IGN . and if i tripped the "airbag" light.....i would re-set this once done...
( IT DID NOT TRIP THE AIRBAG LIGHT...??? ) go figure !!
keys still in :: steering wheel down and out and changed the dash for another one.! then started the car and ALL GOOD...! ( disclaimer here :: i dont know if ALL S2 cars would be the same here..?? )
all the best...nick .
and before you ask .......the airbag light in my rebuilt dash i fitted DID light up (checked) then went out !
Yup mines a series 2 and I changed my dash with the keys in and Nothing went wrong. The only annoying part was the door bell beeping the whole time while I swapped dashes..

Did you just put keys in, to get the wheel to move, or did you then turn keys to "on" ?
If the former, then you're not actually powering the airbag system at all, hence why no error code. If you switched it to On for the duration then I'm not sure how you got away with it. _________________

Interesting... it should only be sensitive to the 'on' or at the min the 'aux' signal, the "key in ignition" signal only goes to a cpl of units ie the steering wheel controller and the beepbeepbeep noisey fkn thing.
But maybe they're wired differently.. there is a few things that are done differently between them. You can go and check your s1 if you're game to reset the thing again if it trips?? hahha _________________

Sweet... because I tripped mine one of the dozen times I had to take it out to replace a blown bulb so the next time I just removed the air bag bulb to fix the issue. Would be nice to put a bulb back in and reset it so it doesn't stay on. _________________
