This ^^^ I assumed you were on p-plates buying a non turbo. Do not waste your time with rb26, its not worth it to be different.

How about putting the 1uzfe in that these come with in 4wd form, put a nice big single on and built auto. That's different, and you'll save yourself some pennies.

Have you driven a v8 vs a rb/jz/ ANY TURBO car?

If you want very fast take off go do buy a vw turbo diesel or do a turbo diesel conversion too your aristo lol

You wont beat a v8 for responsive low down power... be very different and do 5.0l coyote engine swap, 300rwk off the show room floor, heaps of low down power, probally the best aussie produced engine yet unless you look at the euro's, 6.3l amg engine swap

an rb is going to have a similar power band too a jz

Torque is over rated... if torque was soo good why do all 6-8 sec drag cars aim for massive horsepower, nascar etc all higher hp

im probably going to get nailed for this but since we are on the topic, here goes Very Happy

I do have a 2JZ turbs Aristo and yes I love it, great qaulity built car, but if you thinking rb26, why dont you consider an rb30 bottom end with the rb26 head and factory 6 throttle body set up, go a gt35/40 series turbo with say motec or autronic and the right fuel system, that would be a awsome setup in a 147

ive had many vl turbos in the past and still own 2, and they can take a pounding and plenty of cheap rb30's everywhere.

Tony Knight down at Knight Engine Services (someone who builds a lot of high-end competition engines) did a comparison on Performance Forums a year or so ago between the RB26 and 2JZ to answer which was really the better engine from an engineering point of view. His opinion was the RB26 could be taken further but only just and it would cost more. He thought the 2JZ was a better street engine, even if you went to the trouble of building an "RB30DET".

While a turbo ?UZ would be sweet and sound good, it also won't make as much horsepower per dollar spent than a turbo LSX. Pushrods might not be fashionable, but you can't argue against the horsepower and aftermarket support those engines make, plus they're physically smaller and (if using an alu block, not a truck iron block) they're lighter than a 1/3UZ, too.

The Coyote is a fine choice for a motor and guys are getting ludicrous amounts of power out of them (pulley, exhaust, flash tune, intercooler core, injectors = 470rwkW), however they're insanely wide and almost impossible to fit into anything smaller than an FG Falcon enginebay. The engine is wider than an old Ford 460cui big block!
