SO the annoying bird noise is driving me insane, have not had any lights on the dash yet but the noise started probably 2 months ago. Was wondering has anyone bought the new canister if so
where from
how much it cost
delivery time
results
I think these canisters could be retrofitted with a new valve quite easily and then filled but I am not sure the old seals would withstand the higher pressure and as such would leak again so I am not sure if it is worth mucking around with it hence looking at a new one
Best price iirc is one of the NZ toyota branches at about $300nzd. Time frame to oz, not sure. But I think the bird noise isnt an empty canister but a leak in the BMC, so in that you should be after one of those. Someone was trying to reseal one but the thread stopped suddenly when he broke one of the parts and nothing new has been added since.
Mines spongy and Ive just done the canister 6 or so months back. will be looking at going vacuum assisted when it starts failing warrants
hmm whats involved in changing it over, maybe I should look into this route. Don't want to change canisters for no gain. I will bleed the system again and see if that helps, can't see it stopping the noise though
Na noise wont stop till you either change out the bmc or convert over. Think theres a couple of guys that have done it, try searching the build threads
hey yer i was the one trying to rebuild a bmc i have got one sitting in my car i have just not put the engine back in my car to test it to make sure it is all sweet so hoping mid to late april and its pretty expensive the bmc seal kit if almost $300 alone but it can be done and its not tht difficult i will make a right up once i have tested my one

hmm after listening closely i think it might be the bmc now you suggested it. Sounds liek it might be in the valve when the pedal is depressed, pedal is a little spongy but maybe the last shop didn't bleed the three BMC nipples. Am keen to see the write up and how you go with reconditioning/rebuilding yours where did you get the kit from?

I would say the correct procedure for bleeding your brakes was not followed. A lot of shops would be unaware that there is 3 nipples that need to be bled.
Just had a look and doesn't look like we have a Noobs guide to bleeding the brake system. Can anyone post one up? I've got to do mine next weekend when I put the Goodbridge brake lines in.
bird noise is def the cannister chaps, It is hydraulic hammering that usually gets absorbed by the cannister, $300 is a steal, i have noticed that 100 series l/cruisers have the same system except a bigger cannister.

They should have don't as I told them specifically to bleed them
