for what its worth lads.....have spent best part of the day on the BITCH....
and the main problem was the "fast idle unit" as spoke about a few times here and there....
although not that dirty/ shitty with carbon deposits, and a PITA to remove and re-fit..!!!!
THIS....has solved my problem with the car...!
idle once re-fitted went to 900 rpm once started, and done a ecu RE-SET....AND all good NOW..!!!
would like to thank "EMS3S" for taking the time to throw me a few "do this / do that" in regard to trying
to resolve the problem..!! all the best...nick .

No problem Nick
Sorry for the delayed replies, I know how frustrating little issues like this can be. A few times I've wanted to set the car on fire. Not that I'll admit that to the missus she might do it for me.
you are NOT WRONG ...gerardo...!!! Evan my dog has stayed out of my way today....
MATE.....removing that unit/cleaning it/ and replacing it ................. is NOT FUNNY..!!!
it amazes me how something so small , can destroy the idle on a JZS147..... nick .

On this line though, I once cleaned the IACV on my old celica, and managed to kill it somehow. Needed to get a new/replacement one cos it just wouldn't idle clean afterwards. Stupid me.
This means though, I'm too shitscared of touching it on this car for fear of ruining it again. Is this a dangerous thing to do? Cleaning the IACV? Or should it be fairly straight forward? _________________

sorry rusty.....i could have taken pics as i pulled it apart....
i found it real easy to pull apart and clean..!! the bloody hard part is re-fitting it again....
IF......anyone attempts this, i do recommend you place a big cloth under around the unit, so when you drop
a screw or one of the 2 /12 mm bolts, it is easy to find them..!!! ( not like me )
as expected you do have them stupid Toyota "spring clips" fitted to the 2 small hoses under the unit..!!
after some time...... i threw them away and bought a couple of "normal" ones that tighten with a screw-driver..!!
