i once read that every car has about 5, of which 3 are stamped on in some hidden places so police can see if the car is legit or whatever.

right, wrong, dunno?

Probally applies to newer cars but only seen a couple on the Aristo and ive ripped plenty apart....

The couple i know of are passenger side label and stamped onto the firewall, never seen anything in the boot.

I've seen a plate rivetted to the engine bay somewhere with it,
I've seen them stamped into the firewall directly
And of course the purple sticker.
I've ripped my fair share of Aristos apart too and not seen any in boot or anything like that.

The one that is pop-riveted is done at compliance. Due to needing the extra numbers in front for Aus licensing..

It is often stamped in the middle of the engine bay on the firewall and also on one of the wheel arches. It's also going to be on the purple compliance plate and also maybe on a front door arch..
