Hey all,

First post. My names Graeme and i currently own a VL Commodore 304 BT-1... Now in recent weeks i have had multiple (5) offers and about 10 requests if im selling my second daughter... Razz

Not real sure as i think its the last stock 5L Intercepter in Perth, not only that its probally as close to original as u can find apart from the stage 2 trimatic conversion and a mild stereo with 125 db of power. Oh and pacemakers with a custom high flow 2.5 inch exhaust which was purely added for fuel economy not performance. Wink

Cheers...

Anyways a couple of years ago, well the day of Trance Energy i met a "mate" at his mates place, think his name was Paul he had an aristo and one look and i fell in LOVE...

Now ive never driven one and I've not even been passenger but from what ive been reading on here and the LOVE at first sight and the fact im coming into a position where i might actually be able to afford one i think its time to do some real solid research. Also any help u guys can give would be very much appreciated!

Cheers...

Hey Graeme. rare indeed ! The good ole ex pursuit machine hey Very Happy

Reminds me today was next to a VL with the plates 'report me' and was definetly a unique car LOL

Youd be thinking of Pete aka ICEMAN and his old retired silver aristo, now drives an immaculante black aristo with big single.

Goodluck finding the car you desire because its a buyers market thats for sure......

Please define good cash??? lol

as for smick, paint job is fairly crap but engine is untouched apart from complete pull down and regasket when i bought it 5 years 30k ago and interior is spotless original pig pack blue Wink transmission fully rebuilt three times less than 5k ago all suspension rubbers and other bits n peices purrfect so jus needs panel and paint and either a good stroking or something of that nature....

But for what it would cost me for a decent paint job (atleast 5k) stroked (another 5k) and all the other tid bits id just be better of either selling it or putting it in the shed till ive paid off my house and by then it probally be actually worth a tidy lil sum....

Anyways id really like to get into the nitty gritty and ask u guys some serious questions as i would like an aristo but i want something decent not a POS!!! You, Aristoman and a select other few really seem to know what your talkin about so here goes...

would i be better off importing or buying something here? If i import do all mods have to come of and be returned to stock?

Seen a lovely White aristo on gumtree with 75000 odd kays and a few simple mods but $14000 seemed abit excessive after reading a few of aristomans post and saying he wouldnt pay any more than 10k for any aristo?!?

Dont bother importing not worth it because there's hardly anygood ones left and the fees to bring them over is outrageous & besides theyre cheaper to buy locally without issue.

Having owned near on 10 Aristo's and killed many more theres some shitters out there but all in all most are well looked after.

Way to much id only pay over 10k if cars exceptional and or big single / manual.

Stockers can be bought for fuck all or people wanting quick sales.

No pics, because I'm too lazy to post on anything other than my iPhone. There are a few on my Facebook, though. Simon Mcewin. I'm not hard to find. I'll let you know when I've got the brakes done, Jamie, then feel free to come down and drive it like it's stolen. It's insured for more than I paid for it. Happy days. =D

Might need to go eastern states to grab one but i know of a few locally forsale soon.

Bring over car about 1k about and then makesure its all above aboard before taking over pits which will be stamp duty / rego and GST.

It was more than $500. But I'm not posting up how much I paid for it on the interwebs. I might want to sell it one day and make some decent coin.

I'd trade mine for another trueno. Provided it's clean. And registered. And preferably a hatch.
