My name is Alan and i have two aristos. I have a UZS143 1993 model pearl white over silver with factory fitted 1uzfe and all wheel drive. it also has the factory air bags taken out and now a aftermarket airbag suspension system on switches. and a twin turbo but more on that later...
ok the bad news . i ran into the back of a nissan x trail at the lights in my v8 . the sun got in my eyes coming over a hill and i just didnt see him. it smashed the bonnet, head lights , pretty much all the front except for the drivers side guard .
luckily i had insurance. only $15000 but better than nothing (i spent $10,470 on the air bag setup alone ) after taking out $3500 for excess for the crash and $3500 to buy my car back i was left with about $8000 left.
So what did i do ? well i missed my aristo so much i just wanted it back again, well atleast some thing that felt the same ... so i ended up buying a 1994 JZS147 twin turbo exactly the the same colour as my v8 one at a really good price ($6800) with the intention of using the front of that car to repair my smashed car and selling the 2j.
what ended up happening , i drove the 2j aristo just to get around for a few months. it has a KKR front mount and blitz BOV and other goodies . it was pretty fast car (dyno at 298hp). i had joy of beating a black VE SS ,2 times in a row , from the lights . before we raced he told me i should give my dad a call cause he wants his company car back...lol he was pretty cut when i beat him. now i now why 2j is king. also the easy abilty to do 70 meter long power skids up my dead end street in nothing but D for drive. thats cool
now the bad bit about the twin turbo one ... i blew the head gasket on it driving home from work one day. electrolosis ate away the alloy head, even tho it had a jap grounding kit,but that probably does nothing any way
so now im still paying off a loan for my two cars to sit in a family friends garage.it sucks
now what my new years resolution is to hopefully get my 2 aristos back on the road.
what im asking of other aristo owners in the brisbane area to come around to my shed and talk toyotas with me and give me a bit if motivation.come down and chill out with my cars. i used to be a apprentice mechanic when i was younger but lost my licence(in a nissan skyline) so i didnt end up completing my apprenticeship.now i work cash converters which is very interesting...
i live and breath cars but this is just a huge job so what im really chasing is a helping hand and some advice. us aristo owners are special bunch , we always look at our cars for far too long when we park them and walk away .lol its all the best bits of a import in one complete package.people who dont own one dont understand.
the cars located in ebbw vale near dinmore in QLD. feel free to post or send me a text on my mobile 0430080711 and ill be happy to show you my cars and have a chat.
hopefully i can cruise down the coast in my v8 with a few other aristos by next summer. thats the goal _________________

Wow killed the first Aristo ! So you bought the foobarred V8 back ? Just re-read the airbag setup alone set you back 10k
So now the 2J is knackered you wish to install the UZS143 V8 back into the JZS147 chassis ?
How banged up is the old shell / car ?
Sounds like alot of work im thinking shitloads of prefabbing with the box / tailshaft / driveshafts inparticular. Might have to jump onto a few Soarer / Celsior forums and see what the go is with a RWD V8 from AWD and how easy it is to convert....
Easiest option just buy another 2J and drop it straight in then onsell block / head / all ancillaries off the bunky 2J that way you'll get most of your coin back no probs. Shame your ex QLD id help no questions asked if you're local to me...
Goodluck with either setup. _________________

I thought he said he bought the 2j aristo to stick the front end onto the crashed v8 one, not put the v8 bits into the 2j aristo.
Could be wrong but i think thats what he means _________________
sorry i should explain better buy a cheap 147 use the motor out of that to replace the blown motor in yours and use the shell for a swap over of the air bagged v8
i will get some pics up soon .
and yeah im lookin to get both cars running . just with the twin turbo one it will have different coloured front panels or whatever from a import wrecker coz im using the panels off it to fix the v8 which is a higher priority. i have already bought a nose cut radiator support to fix the v8 one too.
the uzs143 chassis is different to a jzs147 coz it has a big lump for the transfer case in the passengers front footwell . its actually very interesting with them side by side comparing the different parts .
i actually crashed my car on feb 2010 but was pretty down about the whole thing so i didnt even really wanna look at my v8 fo a month or so. time has just passed by and now i just really wanna drive my nice car again
At the moment i have a mx 83 cressida as a daily which i will hope rebadge and regrille as a jzx81. not the real deal but close enough.
haha and a ke55 out the back of my house having a bit of freshen up after 12 years off the road. new suspension ,engine (4K out of ke70) ,paint ,interior trim(cowprint ) and some old skool custom inspired trinkets. Yep a true toyota nut.
haha and i also have a sigma which bought for 100 bucks and it is registered for 6 months ! i have put maximum effort to to put as many cliche old man things in and on the car. but enough about that.
thanks for the feedback guys ... _________________

all sweet . in the end of the day will gladly rip what ever parts i need for the v8 off the twin turbo . if it gets out of control i will make the 2j car a track only drift matsuri style beast ... _________________

I think that the way you write and the way you beat around the bush confuses everyone
Be more specific in what you are asking. I have read through a few times and I am still finding it difficult to work out what you are after? If you want to keep both cars, then you need to pop a new engine into the JZS147 and fix the v8 one If fellow Aristo people live nearby, then I am sure someone will offer to help you do that? Pick a date and post it up in the events section. See what replies you get?
Also, it is a bit pointless putting an 81 grill on an MX83, isn't it? The grill isn't gunna make it better without the 1JZ to go with it?
crashed the UZS, wants to get it back on the road,
he bought a jzs147 with the intention to use it to repair the UZS, but then got hooked on the 2j
so he wants both cars up n running....
SO buy a 2j front cut, that way u can use the panels off the front cut to fix ur UZS and the motor/head to fix the JZS....
post some pics of the damage, either way, a front cut is the way to go, coz even if the rad support is bent, u can un-pick it and un-pick the rad support off the front cut and slap it on the UZS...simple simple...done..then you'll have both UZS and JZS aristos!!!
u guys suck at understanding....simple

i-four+ aftermarket bags= awesomeness!
exactly what was said above. also sell the mx83 and get 700-1000 spare cash. drive the $100 bomb around for 6 mths till you get both the aristo's up. dont spend any money on any other car. also front cut will be better then parts from wreckers. just ask jamie and he'll be able to tell you the benefits of a front cut rather then parts from wreckers. prob end up costing cheaper. you actually mite also be able to get some juicy upgrades for either the v8 or 2j(id go the 2j cut) if you got one from jland.
as for help/chilling i have a shop so have very little time but will deff shoot you a txt if i have any free time...
hope they are both running soon mate. _________________
Agreed 2J cut is what you require over here in WA can be sourced halfcuts for well under 3k without breaking a sweat over in QLD id shudder to think how much theyd want
What we pay for halfcuts theyd want in front cuts over your way
Pics of the pranged car first up thanks also with the insurance company paying you out it must be a fuckin nasty mess ! _________________
