ok lads........... for those that know more than me about these things ..??
have purchased "red" led bulbs for stop/tail lights ,and the fuckers only light up when i hit the brake..?
no lights with "light switch on " ?
BUT....if i use a tester on them with power,in the same cradle/housing ...THEY WORK FINE..??
IE::: i get brake light up / lights up with light switch on..?
its got me rooted here,on why they only half work here..?
have bought bulbs off this supplyer before with no probs..!! and am waiting for a reply email from them.?
blown fuse maybe?? that problem makes almost no sense!! try a factory bulb...if it works, that eliminates the car as an issue, but if you can get the led working off the car (but in the same cradle) it eliminates the led as an issue....have you tried flipping the led the other way round? (dunno maybe some sort of magic, just like with installing HID's how you have to reverse the polarity?) _________________
ok lads............... have spent best part of the day with these fuckers..!!!
as said SOTI.. have stock bulbs in,painted red, cause i have deleated the "red covers" in the rear garnish.!
these work fine..! place 1 of these leds in,and it lights up straight away, with my parker lights on.!!
NOW...as i go to push the bulb in and twist to lock it in, i lose the connection (no power to bulb on side lights ?) BUT....hit the brake and the fkn thing lights up like lunar park..?
reversing dont work,or is NOT right, cause i cant turn them off,and they get fkn "red hot"
agree,soti.............. dont make sense ? and can only be the stupid fkn connectors inside the bulb carrier.
what i could do ..... is solder the power wires from the bulb carrier straight to the bulb..!!!
then the bastards would work properly..!!!!
WELLLLLLLLLLLLL....soti...... ....cracked the shits, and have spare rear "looms" for the brake lights..
so went to town mate, and soldered direct to the bulb !!! (narda ) don't work !! (in car )
on the bench with a 12 volt power tester...............(no probs at all ) got me fucked...
spat the dummy at the supplier, and they are giving me a full refund..!!
does not matter which way ,i try to do it,at best i get "full light" ie::: brakes are on . but i have not touched the brake pedal yet.. hit the brake.........and no change !
what i cant seem to get "in car" like i can on bench......is the low light........then brighter light..?
its a fkn shame ........ cause these things are as bright as hell...!!!! when they decide to light up...
so will start again, and look for "similar" but def....... not the same sort !!..............nick...
maybe the parkers dont use 12v, maybe its only (e.g) 6v, and when the led lights are plugged in, that 6v isnt enough to light the leds in a dim manner??
no that doesnt work coz u said u havent hit the brake and they light up! maybe theres no '2 stage' to them...(means parkers run a 12v line)
a conventional stop light work by using 2 filaments, a parker and a STOP filament, when the parkers are on, only that rail receives 12volts, when the brakes are applied, a 2nd 12v rail lights up the other filament...thus the '2 stage' lighting.
sorry, just had to write that down so i could get my head around the concept of using '2 stage' leds..
heres my Q to you:
when you hook it up on a bench, via the parker 12v rail, do ALL the leds light up?? or is it just every odd one, or is it just one side? or are they all dim? (then, wat happens when you apply 12v to the brake light? do they all get brighter, wat happens, would it be possible for you to get pics, if you CBF)
coz am thinking, unless your supplying more voltage to another set of leds, the lights arent going to get brighter..
so to explain,
parkers 12v...e.g 1 million candles worth of light....
brakes applied 12v e.g. 1 million candles worth of light,
but since it cant get any brighter, it continues to supply only 1 million candles worth of light..
if the leds you have are broken into 2 sets (1 parkers, 1 brakes) then it would be 2 million candles worth of lights, thus creating the 'extra light'
hope i havent confused you!! i think i have, i think i have confused me! _________________
From what I can see in your pics those bulbs would work the same as a single filament bulb, but aren't the brake/ rear lights dual filament? If they are these will only work for one circut, eaither the brakes or the rear lights
well bugger me charlie...SOTI..!! proud to say i am not confused mate, know exactly what you are saying
and PICS coming very soon....!!
that's why ,you go for the 1157 coded bulbs soti....these ARE made to "all' light up ...but not "super bright" with parker's on.....
and then when brake applied a greater light comes from them..!!!
remember soti.....these fuckers are advertised as "plug n play" ....?
but, Evan the supplier has commented on (oohhh you are placing these in jzs147 GOOD LUCK !!)
so don't know if he has had trouble from buyers before with these.... or as per usual, its just our
jzs147,s that are a PITA...to sort out..
.....dont laugh soti , i grabbed the crook ones yesterday, and placed them in the rears, just for
the hell of it,mainly to see if "they" were any brighter than the ones that replaced them....?
and the bloody things work fine..... (go figure !)
