ok so me and my bad luck, ive lost my only key to my aristo now what are my options can i get another one from toyota?, is there some one that can some how make another one?, or am i going to have to smash my window and then get new locks? i hope not the last one
you dont have to smash the window locksmith open it up,dont know about toyota having keys but maybe see if anyone on here has got key and barrels for sale
i havent done it on a aristo before but looking at my car you would rip off the door trim etc you see the lock be bolt to something undo it pop it out then do it in reverse
yeah have central locking but i only hade the one key that unlocked the car and started it, had a look at adelaide locksmiths they have a list of what they do and it says they re key barrels and stuff. Does that mean that they can make me another key from scratch? Forgot i had central locking at least i can get into the car now as i still have the toyota bit that activates the central locking as the actual key snaped off that bit lol
ahh k where does the end go is it still in the car or is that the whole steering rack? sorry for all the question im crap at this stuff, also what tools would be involed cheers
The end shaft goes into the universal joint steering rack. Thats the hardest part getting the shaft back into place but with plenty of crc and extra hands its not to hard.
Inside the cabin you'll need to remove the upper and lower dash pieces then drop 4 nuts & associated bolts. Unplug all the electrical jargon and you're good to go....Goodthing is you can still use your exsisting steering wheel after pulling the extra off.
Shame you're not local because it isnt that hard to do having done this about 5 times myself wrecking cars and fitting to others. _________________

No worries at all only way to learn is to pull cars apart Today just saved over $700 thanks to Chappo
Changed both lower balljoints / both control arms (no: 2) / drivers side tie rod end. All i can say car is like brand spankers to drive.
Not bad for backyard mechanics 101. _________________
