Adelaide owners - do i need to get the car inspected at regency? more worried about FMIC+mods
also interested in any car carrier quotes anyone has too
thanks,

hey mate i don't live in Adelaide but i can speak from my experience. I bought an aristo i found on the forum 800km away and i just simply asked for a lot of questions and photos and also got the owner to take it to a mechanics of my choice and have it checked over. I then called the mechanic and got a report straight from his mouth. That was enough in my eyes to fly up and purchase the car

Hey mate, if you buy a car from interstate it will have to go Regency to have all the numbers checked before it can be registered to make sure everything lines up (not stolen) But as i found out they may defect you there if they think the car is unroadworthy. Which then means the car can't be transferred to your name and it gets defected under the previous owners name!! I had a massive argument whilst I was there saying it was not a roadworthy inspection just a vehicle identification inspection so how could they defect me, apparently they have a duty of care and left with a defect sticker on my window and two big cuts through my tinted windows. Mind you, I probably was a bit stupid trying to get a slammed rodeo on 20's thru (alrite, a complete idiot) Hopefully an aristo would be a lot easier

i simply hate regency, 6 week waiting lists for defect's is fkn bullshit, i am worried that ill be in the carpark and they will complain about a 4mm difference in ride height - how my mate got done.

in terms of getting rego in adelaide, i'm told you don't have to take it through regencey, just an ID check and fill in some forms and you're away. _________________

Correct. You can just take it to a transport sa depot. There is one in sturt next to the cop shop and im sure there are plenty more around. They should send you there when you go to get the rego changed over
