Thanks for the positive comments
I have seen a few supra- mercedes engine conversions but IMO the flatter torque curve of my 5.0 v8 suits the near on 2 tonne curb weight Smile the only toyota components likely to find there way in there will be an R154 or a Wseries box...

W series wont handle the power/torque, stick with a 154, or v160 series 6spd!

Wseries good enough for street duties (they have been abused behind Aussie V8s for years Ive even seen the little steel case w50s behind 308s etc) and way cheaper than R154 (Although obviously a better box )
And sadly v160 doesnt have a removable bellhousing so makes it a to hard basket proposition

Hi everyone,

Teds the name, 18 years old, probably one of the youngest ones on here Very Happy

Currently a 2nd year apprentice in air conditioning and refrigeration, enjoy it heaps and the pay isnt too bad either.

Love to party, hit town, cruise in the aristo and just chill with mates.

Previous cars:

1990 MF Barina

1995 Suzuki Swift GTi - chipped ecu, extractors + full 2" exhaust, cold air intake

Now the 1995 stock aristo - plans are intercooler, exhaust, ecu upgrade

Cheers, Ted.

A pre-emptive introduction, nice work.

Apparently we need a cruise, seems to be a few new members in Adelaide.

Although some of the older members seem to have disappeared Confused

Well people call me Jonny Ritalin and I currently live in Okinawa, Japan. I have been building cars most of my life and have owned quite a few:
69 Plymouth barracuda
76 datsun 260z
95 honda civic hatchback ( turbo b18)
S14 silvia
Soarer
R33 gtst
R33 gtr
91 aristo 5 speed (converted myself)
Currently own
Jzx100 chaser (wifes car)
94 aristo with r154 swap in progress (didn't go through enough pain the first time so doing again mysel)
I love every aspect of the 147 ( minus no factory manual opt) and more love the shock value of a lux sedan that can destroy others at will. I'll be setting this one up for mostly drift but in a japanese vip style. Will post pics of the old 147 and the new one when i make it back to oki this week.

For those that are interested in parts from japan let me know what you are interested in and i will do what i can to make it happen.

Jealous. I would love to move to japan. Welcome mate. Looking forward to some pics, even of just the car scene over there, from real people....not just a magazine

Yeah the scene use to be a lot better when i was here before but it still is pretty sick. When i get back home i'll post some up from a drift comp a few years back along with some other random car porn from then until now.

@bulldogger:
No i sold that back while in college like an idiot and kick myself daily for it.

And yeah i have picks of both 147s but i'm currently in the US until Wednesday so i cant post just yet.

I will say this though it's nice to find a group that is as like minded about the 147 as i am.

Roadrunners are pretty sexy. There something to be said about old muscle but as i explained it to my dad one time: i choose to build in the tuner market (hondas toyotas etc) because these are our generations muscle. The civics, supras, rx7s, aristos, skylines, silvias etc are to our generation as the cuda, charger, challenger, camaro, dusters and such where to theirs. And i thought you meant on your friend as well but that's because i read that wrong. Heh
