hey guys im looking for your thoughts. im being offered a straight swap for my aristo with a rz tt 6spd supra 96 model. the car is totally stock apart from a body kit(i will take it off asap if i get it), apexi exhaust, 18's which look half decent, coilovers and a turbo timer. thats it. even still has stock fmic and no boost controller at all either. so its basically stock. my car has steel wheel turbo's, 18's, big fmic, fcd, exhaust, coilovers, boost T and a few little things.

i drove the supra today and drives very nice. nothing weird or rattely. gearbox and driveline felt good. its dead slow compared to my car but thats coz its only got an exhaust and still running 6psi n im running 350+ hp. it was crazy slow lol. i did dump the clutch and kick it lol. its very dusty and dirty which is no biggy. interior has no rips but dirty. the paint is not bad but has one tiny dent in the rear. body kit is cracked up front.

im thinking i should get a mechanic to check the car again(my uncle is one) and i should have another good look at it check for oil leaks and stuff and if its all good i should swap it. reasoning is that i will be able to sell the supra for around 18000 once i clean it up but my car i will find it very very hard to get even around 14000. what do you guys reckon. any thoughts?? any one know of stock supra body parts?? front rear and skirts let me know plz. may help sway my decision. resale value is my main reason for buying and plus its A MANUAL SUPRA!!! lol

so what do you guys think??

cheers
Neil

Wow id swap as others have said, aristo's are hard to move for decent money and the Supra would be worth shitloads more !

RZ as in 4 pot front / 2 pot rear combo or pissy 2 / 1 ?

Getrags are a fantastic box get ready for clunky / rattly gear changes LOL

i know the aristo is extremely sentimental to me being my first car and having done a shyt load of work on it myself but this deal is (for now .. i still have to have a detailed look at the supra with more time) a bit too good to pass up...

being so stock its can only be a good thing, im thinking. and it really is getting too hard to move aristo's these days.

it has the 2j... does it still make me a traitor?? Sad

Neil understand your situation but FFS if its all legit do the swap you'd be crazy not to !

Anymore info. on the car in question ? Modify a Supra with the same mods it'll piss all over an Aristo.

im thinking trade more and more as well.

info on supra:
-has catback apex-i
-has body kit .... doluck or something.. not keen but mite keep it till i have more money to go back to stock
- has turbo timer
- rz model 1996. 152xxxkm's
- 18's
- supposedly has had 100000km service done (runs and idels smooth as)
- stock boost
- stock intercooler
- stock gearbox components
rest is totally stock. even runs the stock 6psi so probably 3-4psi when it gets to the engine and feels sooo slow lolz

but as for driving... im not too fluent on a manual as i drive then once in a while only but was soo smooth and i did give it shit loads lol. and engine seemed healthy as well.

Decent enough by sounds with the minor mods and general condition of the car.

Even if you dont like the car when you swap you'll still make packets loads more then the aristo ever will, so basically it'd cover another aristo and some !

im almost certain that i will get it. the thing is that im indian and parents have a say in this lol but i will explain exactly what you have said jamie. and that is the main reason that i want the car. its a purely financial decision. i will not get any more then 12 at the very very maximum for my aristo where as the supra i will easily get at least around 16ish. so that in itself is a 4k profit....kinda but if i do get this then it'll be in the garage for a million years......or maybe an evo 6.5 lol
