if thats the go i would probably say they you've got 2 choices, they will be so "luxury" that you will get 5,000km's out of them or you'll be doing power skids every time you try n put ur foot down... :S
home brand tyres are never all there cracked up to be mate. its just saying "budget"
both the eagle f1's and the Maxxis ma-z1's (i think thats them) are very similar tread almost identical....
but they way they behave in both wet and dry conditions really comes down to the tech.
SPT (dunlop/goodyear) have spent a lot of coin making that patern work there compounds and layering is second to none -
cheap rubber in a similar mould may not live up to your expectations but if you do get them let us know how you feel about them

G'day mate, I saw those tyres on Ebay too, my suggestion is don't go for cheap tyres.
untill last week, i was running my with cheap frkkn cheap chinese or korean tyres, when i drive on bumpy roads, always heaps noises coming from underneath, checked sway bars, ball joints, tie rod ends, and nothn wrong with those, and aso I have good set tein coils too. any way i was looking tyres on ebay daily, and found 4 tyres,90% rubber, 235/18 front and 265/18 rear, falken, for $390 last week, and i changed straightaway, believe or not car is running realy smooth, feels very good. with old tyres, the car is allover the road, now no more.
my guess is, when carry those old tyres home, they frekkn heavy rubber, may be i have to go for another check up for ball joints and stuff soon to make sure.
Get the best tires you can afford. I've always used bridgestones. Used to run S03 pole position's then the new potenzas. Have used top shelf advans and yokohama's before also but bridgestone's are the go in my opinion. Better tyre for less money than the advans and in another league compared to the yoko's.
My aristo has compliance nankang 18 x 245 and 275's and they are the pox. Grip is poor considering the tires width plus they are very vague. You dont feel connected to what's happening on the road. They are also fairly loud. This is what you're gonna get with cheap tires no matter the brand or where they're made. On the plus side most of them last a fair while as they are normally a fairly hard compound and/or have been sitting around in a warehouse for ages and have started to cure and go hard (not what you want for grip).
If you haven't got the $ to shell out for something decent I can sell you these nankang's on my car if you like. 90-95% tread front and rear and they're prob better than Goldenbridge...

That's dead right. They may have exactly the same tread but it is the construction of the tire that is important. Slicks have no tread at all yet two different brands will perform totally differently.
Get a pamphlet from your local tire shop on a top shelf tire. You can guarentee the full page of features on constuction and design as well as compound development and road testing will not be found on your cheaper tires.

They handled the 1000km drive on the weekend flawlessly. Had better traction than my Michelin Pilot Sports, less noise and better in the wet. Can't fault them yet
